Favorite Features Favorite Features of the Property & House: We love morning coffee on the screen porch while watching hummingbirds feed. In the evenings we enjoy sipping Baileys Irish Cream from the hot tub while watching the sunset. Great memories were made taking the kids tubing and waterskiing behind the boat on hot sunny days and shooting super soakers off the swim raft was always a good laugh. Sunset cruises around the lake at dusk as loons called over the calm waters was always a tradition. The homes character of post and beams always made it a warm, cozy home. We love the private areas throughout especially the master suite. We always had plenty of storage space as well for our own items and guests. The great part was entertaining by the water or up on the decks. Plenty of room for a big bbq and the sandy beach was always great for everyone of all ages to easily go in and out of the water. The views are beautiful from the house, decks and waters edge. What makes it even better are the sunsets and sun exposure all day long with exceptional privacy on all sides of the property.
Favorite Features of the Neighborhood: First and foremost we enjoy the location of the house, providing exceptional privacy as the last house on a quiet dirt road. It is private and plowed by the town. The lot abuts hundreds of acres of undeveloped camp land. It is adjacent to Red Hill Conservation areas and hiking trails. The location is only 2 miles to convenience stores, hardware store and more. The road residents are quiet, established families and long-term owners. We also love that the locations conveniently. Just 30 minutes from I-93, 15 minutes to down town Meredith and of course just 2 minutes from downtown Center Harbor. . We can easily get to ski mountains, shopping and restaurant destinations. We can snowmobile right off our property and go hiking nearby. The lake has an annual fourth of July boat parade that is great for family fun! The lake has an active association that monitors the water quality and promotes lake stewardship through education, meetings and activities. Their website is www.kanasatka.org
Lake Kanasatka This prisAne 375 acre lake was originally called Red Hill Pond, named ager the hills behind its northern shore. Maps from the 1800’s give the name of the lake as Long Pond. A saw mill was located at the southern end, just across the Whiber Highway (NH Route 25) from what today is Conway’s bait shop. Large trees were cut from the woods surrounding the lake and the logs were floated down the lake and dragged across the highway to the sawmill. Lake Kanasatka is fed by Wakondah Pond from the west, snow melt from the surrounding hills, and many of its own springs. A dam at the Route 25 end of the lake controls the water level. Water that flows over the dam follows a narrow stream into Lake Winnipesaukee. The lake is 2 miles long, .3 miles wide in most places and has a mean depth of 20 feet. The deepest point, esAmated at 48 feet, is in the widest spot, near Route 25. www.Kanasatka.org
