Blooming Dogwoods, warmer weather … it only means one thing. Spring is here and we have some of the best ways to get out of the house to enjoy the changing season.

For two days, Lake area food trucks will be parked at the Osage Beach City Park serving up some of their signature dishes. Food trucks offer variety, unique cuisine and comfort foods ranging from desserts to burgers and barbecue.

The Lake of the Ozarks Food Truck Festival will be April 29 and 30 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

The event moved from the Lake’s west side to Osage Beach this year. In addition to food, vendors, face painting, live music, bounce houses and other entertainment will be held.

Get Boat Ready

With summer fast approaching, make sure you have everything you need to enjoy the Lake this season. Maybe you are looking for a new boat, dock accessories or a PWC for the family. It will all be on display during the annual InWater Boat Show held April 21-23 at Dog Days in Osage Beach. Local marine dealers will have new and pre-owned boats in the water ready to test drive. will have booths so you can shop their products and services. See the latest on the market covering a wide selection of brands and kick off the boating season with someting new.

Dog Days is located at the 19-mile marker by water and off of the Jeffries Road exit in Osage Beach.

Show hours are Friday 1-7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and free for ages 12 and under.

Spring Festival

Kick off spring at the 72nd annual Dogwood Festival held April 20-22. This year’s theme is “Moments to Memories.”

Several venues around Camdenton offer entertainment and events including the popular craft fair that showcases vendors with a variety of items for sale. The carnival with games, rides and food is held in the Middle School parking lot. Wristbands are available from 5-9 p.m. for $25.

Start A Collection

The Mid-Missouri Collector’s Show will be held at the Osage Beach Elks Lodge March 25 & 26. See all kinds of coins and currency, gold and silver, sports cards and memorabilia, and other small collectables.

Free admission and free parking. Show hours are Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The public is invited to come buy, sell or trade. Free appraisals will be offered.

See A Show

The Sunrise Beach Little Theatre will be presenting a Musical Production of Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me Kate” as a Dessert Theatre on the evenings of May 10, 11, 12 & 13 at the Sunrise Beach Community Center (15133 North Highway 5) in Sunrise Beach.

This classic musical will feature many wonderfully talented performers from the entire lake area. Co-directed by Cheryl Glawe and Beth Buffe, each performance is sure to be an outstanding experience of live theatre and a night to remember.

“Kiss Me Kate” is a light-hearted and fun-filled show-within-a-show version of “Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare and features such hits by Cole Porter as “Too Darn Hot”, “Another Op’nin’, Another Show”, “I Hate Men”, “Brush Up Your Shakespeare”, “Wunderbar”, “So In Love” and many others.

Admission will be $20 for the musical including dessert and coffee or tea. Audience members are welcome to BYOB and or SNACKS. Doors open at 6 p.m. The musical will begin at 7 p.m. Seating will be at dining tables.
