Seven wineries on the Hermann Wine Trail have assembled the ingredients for a memorable Wine Country getaway at the 2022 Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail held July 30 & 31. “Vintners are celebrating the flavors of summer by pairing their wines with juicy berries and savory barbeque,” says Patty Held, president of the Hermann Wine Trail. Wine Trail explorers will sample a tasting menu featuring: • Adam Puchta Winery — Smoked Blackberry Cobbler, paired with Signature Port • Bias Winery — Spicy Grilled Chicken with Mango Salsa, paired with Summer Berry Sangria • Curling Vine Winery — Carnita Chalupas with Persimmon Hill Blackberry BBQ Glaze, paired with Twisted Blackberry • Dierberg Star Lane Tasting Room — Grilled Pineapple Salsa, paired with Sauvignon Blanc • G. Husmann Wine Company — Blackberry Pulled-Pork Sliders, paired with Blackberry Rhapsody • Hermannhof Winery — Grilled Bratwurst Bites with Mixed Berry Relish, paired with Chambourcin • Röbller Winery — BBQ Pork Joes, paired with St. Vincent Rose’
Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail is one of six annual events hosted by Hermannarea vintners. Next up is the Holiday Fare Wine Trail November 19-20, a festive start to the holiday season. Say Cheese Wine Trail on Saturday, December 10, is the same weekend as one of Hermann’s popular Christmas markets.
The $35 per person ticket price includes a souvenir wine glass. Hours are Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants also may enter a drawing for a $30 gift certificate from each winery and a one-night stay at a Hermann B&B. The ticket price does not include transportation to wineries or additional wine tasting.
