The church is located at 1064 N. Business Route 5, Camdenton. For additional information, go to Lake Area Fiber Arts Festival or www.lakefiberarts. com.
The Ozark Hills Quilt Guild will host a Quilt show in conjunction with the Fiber Arts Festival also happening at the church.
The show will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and is free to enter. Guild members prepare all of the quilts exhibited and attendees can also view all of this year’s Quilts of Valor pieces.
Giving back to those who served for our freedom is the theme behind Quilts of Valor. A local organization, the Ozark Hills Quilt Guild, makes and distributes these special quilts to current and prior service men and women within the Lake community every year. The recipients come from nominations submitted to and by the guild members.
Quilts of Valor is a national organization with a mission “to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.” The quilts need to meet certain requirements and are registered with the organization. The guild started presenting these labors of love in 2017 and has been presenting about eight quilts per year in a ceremony held in November (except in 2020 due to COVID).
The 25 members of the Ozark Hills Quilt Guild prepare these brilliant quilts for Quilts of Valor and for other charities including making quilts for families with new Habitat for Humanity homes.
At the show, purchase a raffle ticket to be entered to win a quilt. Tickets are $1/each or six for $5. Browse the gift boutique and quilters corner for bargains on merchandise and materials.
The guild meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Church of Osage Hills on Osage Beach Parkway. The group provides a forum for members to share different quilting ideas and techniques while offering opportunities to participate in learning programs through the Quilting Network.
