Spring Cleaning

With spring just around the corner it’s time for some spring cleaning! It’s time to get both your gear and your body ready to move and play. Below are some items to help get you golf-ready coming out of winter that will benefit your performance on the course while not breaking the bank.

Golf Bag Refresh:

• Slide on a new glove. You want to make sure the glove material is in good shape to ensure a solid grip in addition to having the correct fit. No need to use a glove with a few holes or a little crunch. • Create a good grip. Clean your grips with a simple solution of hot water and Dawn dish soap. Give them a good scrub to remove the oil and dirt from previous use. • Get in the groove. You want your club heads to be free of debris in order to increase the breaks on the ball. All it takes is some water and a light brush like a toothbrush or a golf cleaning brush. • Protect yourself with SPF. It will be important to protect your skin from the elements with some new sunscreen. Sunscreen does expire, and you want it to do its job correctly.

Body Movement Prep:

• Check your grip. Hand placement on the club is vital in maximizing face control and leverage. Make sure the club is placed across your hand diagonally instead of in your palm. • Posture Check Up. Take a look in the mirror to check that you are setup for success. Simply take your stance, tilt & flex with your chest up. This will place your palms on your knees; pressure will be in the balls of your feet to insure you are in the ready positon. • Body Flexibility. Movement is your friend in golf. Stretch at home before heading to the course or arrive early enough to dynamically warm up to prevent injury.

Now get out on the course with a smile and have fun. After all, you’re playing golf!
