CURRENTLY WE HAVE AN ARRAY of new medications and therapies coming to market for all different types of medical indications. These are new treatments that will improve healthcare, patient care, and quality of life in general; the advancements in medicine are made possible through clinical trials.
THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT PHASES OF CLINICAL RESEARCH.
Pre-Phase: Phase 1: Phase 2: Phase 3: Phase 4:
This is laboratory research that may involve cell-to-cell studies or other live lab specimens. Testing for safety, this is the first in human trials.
This phase moves forward with safety and first-time use for a specific medical diagnosis. Moving forward with safety and efficacy, Phase 3 continues to test the treatment— from here the pharmaceutical company will make the decision to file with the FDA as a new drug.
This phase is concerned with safety monitoring for long-term effects. Most of these trials are post-market and observational.

Volunteering for a clinical trial could help you, your family, and others as the data collected will help to bring a new medication or therapy to the market.
While on study, you are monitored closely by medical professionals not just for the indication under study, but for any problems that may occur while on study, so your entire health and wellness is assessed.
Volunteering in a clinical trial is absolutely at no cost to the participate, and in many trials the participate will receive compensation for their time and travel.
