Attorneys get a bad rap sometimes, but I feel it is an honor to serve and help others who are facing some very difficult challenges, and they need someone to be on their side … we’re dealing with people here, and it is my mission to serve them and help them however I can. w

Dedicated Family Men

DR. COLEMAN: I am married to my college sweetheart, Shelby, and we have three sons: Jack, Patrick, and Cooper. An avid Carolina Panthers fan, I love taking the family to games and tailgating events. We are an active family and enjoy all things outdoors … we spend as much time on the lake as we can!

DR. FORAN: Like Dr. Coleman, I married my college love too, Megan, and we have two children—Erin and Liam. As a family, we enjoy hanging out on the lake or relaxing at any beach location, but our favorite is Isle of Palms outside of Charleston. I also love participating in triathlons … the training helps me to unwind, relax, and be a better dad/husband—it’s a great time to think.

If the Tooth Fits

DR. COLEMAN: After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I earned my doctorate in dental science from the University of Buffalo. I then completed my residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and moved to the Lake Norman area to join my uncle, Dr. Patrick Coleman, at his Cornelius practice.

DR. FORAN: I attended Loyola College for my bachelor’s degree in biology, Temple University School of Dentistry, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center for my residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery. It was in attending a group in need of care— wounded soldiers—at Walter Reed when I decided to become an oral surgeon. I was able to see firsthand the role they had in the soldiers’ recovery, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.

Gratitude and Giving Back

DR. COLEMAN: Understanding the importance of giving back, I participate in numerous community events every year. I am proud and honored to serve the people of Lake Norman and to be a contributing member of this amazing area we call home … it fills my heart.

DR. FORAN: Gratitude is everything! We all have bad days, but they have taught me to ignore the minutia— to take a step back and realize that I have a happy and healthy family, a supportive work team, and successful career. I am very fortunate and extremely grateful.

On Other Things

DR. COLEMAN: It’s important to have the right priorities in life and I feel like I’ve cultivated a pretty good balance. I work hard and play hard with my family … there are so many opportunities to do active things around this area; we are always having an adventure. I think this is the secret to life.

DR. FORAN: A perfect day for me is to wake up at the beach, go for a long run or bike ride, spend the day with my family, grill dinner in the evening, and kick back with a nice cold beer. w
