PERMANENT
MAKEUP is a popular and growing cosmetic technique which implants pigment into the skin to resemble makeup such as eyebrows and eyeliner, as well as adding other enhancing colors to the lips and face.
In the beginning, those who made permanent makeup (especially eyebrows) popular were actresses and fashion models. Now, everyday women are getting permanent makeup and cosmetic tattoos. The most popular form of permanent makeup is microblading, which originated at least 25 years ago in Asia and has been growing in popularity in the United States and Europe throughout the past decade. It is a detailed service that creates hair-like strokes to result in fuller and more symmetrical eyebrows. With eyebrows being the most important feature that frames the face, microblading continues to be a growing trend and “must-have” in the beauty world. The tiny, feather-like strokes heal to a soft and very natural looking set of eyebrows.
Before developing better techniques, eyebrows were tattooed on women’s faces with tattoo ink—which actually changes color over time. The pigment used now for permanent makeup will not change colors or shift in the skin over time. The eyebrows are measured and mapped out according to specific facial structure and features, so it is proportionate to each individual’s face. There is little to no pain in permanent makeup and no down time for healing. There will be strict guidelines to adhere by following the service, including staying out of the sun and keeping the treatment area clean and moist. Most cosmetic tattoos will heal in ten days or less.
Everyone can benefit from permanent makeup, especially those who have lost eyebrows and hair from chemotherapy, old age, or alopecia. It is also useful to cover scars, white spots on the skin, or any other disturbances. Nobody’s face or features are perfectly symmetrical, but permanent makeup helps correct asymmetry and enhances natural color and shape. It is great for those looking for an easier makeup routine that is less time consuming … and with the price of cosmetics these days, it saves money too!
Most women feel more confident and comfortable with makeup on. Due to medical reasons, convenience, and cosmetic desires, permanent makeup is a service that more and more women can embrace. Through fuller eyebrows, brighter lips, and eyes that pop, women’s natural features can shine through … with or without makeup! w

It made me smile large when Kristi sent me this message … I am so blessed to work in an industry I love and to help women such as Kristi feel like the beautiful person (and Warrior!) they are: “During my radiation treatment, I found myself one morning without eyebrows. Until that day, I hadn’t really noticed the importance that your eyebrows make in your everyday appearance. I was truly at a loss for options until I found permanent makeup. I was able to restore my self-confidence during an extremely difficult time. I temporarily lost my “can do” attitude until after my appointment. I finally looked like myself again and that confidence gave me the assurance that I could and would recover completely because I am a warrior!” -Kristi Safrit (Meningioma Survivor)
