The priority of the floating city project was to establish continues equilibrium on the main site, Maersk Triple E Class. The city was created and carefully divided on the containership, traveling on the Pacific Ocean. The objective was to create a promenade with housing for a minimum of 1000 people, including ship crewmembers. The promenade had to contain all the necessities of a small community, as it would in a city off the ship. To integrate the equilibrium of the container ship the cargos were used as reference to maintain the weight of apartment size. To assure the weight of the containers were evenly distributed pentominio mathematics were used as a reference for each apartment building. The core of each building starts from the lower level promenade located at the lower deck and rises above the main lever for a clear view of the Pacific Ocean. The promenade was also evenly distributed to divide the city stores and restaurants on both sides of the Maersk Triple E Class. The central division of the city allows natural light for the housing as well as the promenade.

The Alumuni Commons is located at the center of the Pasadena City College campus. The site was approached as “tabula rasa, a clear site with none of the existing gardens remaining. The objective was to explore and developed a concept through program, circulation, and used problems of he initial site. The approach was to integrate architectural building and landscape project based on architectural principles and parameters with a clearly defined design system. The Alumni Common is the center gathering space of the schools campus. The first approach was to clearly define the primary and all other secondary circulation. Students were challenged to form the space with a new clearly defined cafeteria that deals with the circulation and the users of the space. With objective to create a new center for the campus a center connecting was further studied to connect all major circulation. The created surface was further allocated by current the site datum.

The concentration of the boiler house project was to transform the interior of the boiler house to fit the current Pasadena City College architecture program. The objective was to fit the program in a space that was multifunctional and had transformative spaces. While each class in the program is framed in its own unique way, they all share the same common philosophy of the program. It was important to divide the spaces in a functional manner in which they could function in division and in union. To keep the idea of transformation and union alive a research of the human body and skeletal movement was conducted. The human muscle moves the skeletons relatively to each other. All such movements are classified by the direction in which the affected transformative movement. In human anatomy, all decisions of to transform positions and movements are based on the body in its complete medial and abduction stage and is in anatomical position.

Studying the organization one must identify these independent yet related spaces. Develop diagrams in which one illustrates the special organization of the common space, the interlocking spaces, spaces within a space and its circulation. By separating the organization, one is able to better understand and identify the function not only the space but also its circulation. An exciting architecture was chosen. The organization of the program was then studied by spaces and their relationships. By organizing the spaces one is able to distinguish the public from the private spaces. Private spaces were then modeled into poche represented by wood. While the public spaces were modeled with the acrylic. Since the chosen architecture had spaces that interlocked with the outdoor space it virtually becomes one large space with the subdivision in it, creating a space within a space. Last one studied the movement within these spaces that was represented by the white wood, which connected all the spaces in a sequence.

Thorough a hands on experiment of a material, a through understanding of its characteristics, natural behaviors and limitations was investigated. The aim is to develop a material system that clearly expresses the behaviors and characteristics of the material. Through studying the material a organized and formative network of units was then created. The materal chosen by the instructor was Aluminum, a material which has low density and resist corrosion due to the phenomenon of passiveness. It is also a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surface roughness. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel, and is 100% recyclable without any loss of its natural qualities. With study of the performative aspects of the aluminum, a unit is created using the hierarchical behaviors of the material. After the a single units is established, with the various forces of the unit a modular system is created.

Unit Connection
The veriation in the method in which the aluminum is folded and connection gives more demetion to the refelction. Thus every unit has a different effect in the light, not only becouse of the demntion but also by the fold and connection and in the angle in which it is positioned. Reflective aluminum or “lighting sheet” has a mirror like surface and is made from high purity aluminum with specific photometric qualities to control light. In a plain mirror, a parallel beam of light changes its direction as a whole, while still remaining parallel; the images formed by a plain mirror are virtual images, of the same size as the original object.
