CHECK UP AND CHECK IN

Make autumn your season for health and exploration.

Remember when there was such a thing as cold and flu season? Like clockwork, when fall’s first chill set in, so did runny noses, sore throats, and maybe even the occasional fever. Then COVID struck, and there was nothing but COVID. Social distancing and over-sanitizing meant that you were either the healthiest you’d ever been, free of chores like filling humidifiers and downing zinc and vitamin C to cure the common cold, or you got struck down by COVID. There was almost nothing else.

Whether you got hit with COVID or not, the pandemic has made us all more concerned about our health. To that end, this year’s Top Doctors 2022 list might come in handy. Our carefully sourced list has specialists in everything from addiction to allergies, pediatrics to podiatry. It’s worth hanging on to.

And, as we’re all feeling better about being out and about, we’ve culled an amazing sourcebook for travel for the months ahead. Didn’t make it to Europe this summer with the Instagram set? Fret not. Rome and Lake Como are perhaps best experienced in the fall and spring. Thinking about where to go this winter? Whether it’s a family trip with the whole brood or a romantic getaway, we have your guide to all that’s new and happening in the idyllic Mayakoba. Sick of being in a bathing suit? Austin’s charming food, music, and cultural scene—and array of chic hotels— offers something for everyone. And if your officially overwhelmed by browsing all of the new openings and renovations in the Napa Valley, we have you covered with our hotel and experience guide—good for year-round travel. Flip to page 40 and discover our expanded travel section.

Check out the issue and check in with yourself on what you need to feel your best this fall.
