Prospectus 2025-26
Welcome to the 2025-26 LAMDA prospectus.
This prospectus is a guide to our outstanding portfolio of performing arts courses. As one of the world’s oldest and most renowned drama schools, LAMDA has been a pioneer in conservatoire training for over 160 years. We remain so today, with a transformative training ethos designed to educate and inspire the next generation of performers, technicians and directors.
There’s never been a more exciting time to train at LAMDA. In 2024, LAMDA was ranked number one in The Guardian’ s UK Universities Guide for Drama and Dance and as one of the top 10 global drama schools in The Hollywood Reporter ’s annual list. In the 2024 National Student Survey, we achieved exceptional results for student satisfaction for the second year in a row, with an emphasis on quality of teaching, learning opportunities, academic support and student wellbeing.
There have been many highlights over the past year. We partnered with RD Studios on the launch of a new filmmaking competition; hosted our bi-annual MishMash Festival; celebrated three students getting to the finals of the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year competition; watched our Musical Theatre students perform at Edinburgh Fringe; and joined staff and students at the London Pride Parade.
Following a £1.9 million grant from the Office for Students, LAMDA is now home to stateof-the-art virtual production and motion capture studios. These facilities ensure that our students graduate with in demand skills for today’s creative industries.
Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. We work hard to provide an environment where everyone feels welcome and where students are empowered to develop their own unique artistic voice. Our international community of staff and students encompasses an array of backgrounds, cultures and perspectives, all contributing to a vibrant ensemble.
In this prospectus, you’ll get a sense of the incredible opportunities that a life at LAMDA can provide. I look forward to meeting some of you next year. .

Throughout our 160-year history, LAMDA alumni have gone on to become creatives, innovators, actors, musical theatre performers, directors, technical artists and leaders across the performing arts sector and wider creative industries. Today, they continue to forge long-lasting, successful careers that are transforming the landscape of the arts.
Whether on stage or screen, in front of audiences or behind the scenes, in the UK or overseas, many of our 2022-23 LAMDA graduates have enjoyed great success since graduating.
Our Production & Technical Arts graduates go on to work across the creative industries; as stage managers, technicians, lighting and sound designers, and much more. Here is what two of our recent graduates have to say about their time training at LAMDA.
The magic of training at LAMDA lies in its enduring sense of community and family. The friendships you form and the experiences you gain remain with you for a lifetime .
Production & Technical Arts starts with the basics, allowing you to build knowledge without feeling overshadowed by others. The training is tailored to your needs and offers a wide variety of activities. It provided me with a solid foundation upon graduation, equipping me to strive for even greater achievements.
As a graduate of the Production & Technical Arts course, I achieved my goal of becoming Head of Lighting for incredible shows like Stranger Things: The Experience and SIX: The Musical on its UK and international tour, gaining invaluable experience while traveling across Europe. My proudest accomplishment to date is serving as Head of Lighting for the new production of Starlight Express in London, currently playing at the Wembley Troubadour Theatre.
One of the best things about LAMDA is that you don’t have to choose a specialisation. At the time, I wasn’t aware of all the different backstage roles. In the first year, you get to learn all the different disciplines, which was very helpful. And really, it was from that that I got to know more about theatre sound design and engineering and eventually decided to specialise in it.
All the tutors I had at LAMDA came from a professional background. It was great to learn from them about what the industry is like and what skills you needed .
After you graduate, you have the option to go into different fields like radio, TV, film or events. I’ve worked on radio plays and short films and some of my course mates just work in film and TV. It’s different to theatre, but the skills you get at LAMDA are transferable.
