Regular livestreams to reach our global audience
There are a number of performances both internal and external throughout the year at LAMDA, many of which are also livestreamed. Our Acting students are supported by our Production and Technical Arts students on these productions as they act as stage managers, lighting and sound designers as well as costume teams and carpenters. These productions are often new works and are directed by working professionals. Performance opportunities extend beyond live theatricial productions. Depending on the course taken there are varying opportunities to create films, new self-created work, develop voice-over acting and benefitting from our Audible Partnership,
Global industry members are invited to every public production and film screening featuring our BA (hons) and MFA Professional Acting students in their final year. In addition to these, final year BA and MFA students also take part in an industry facing showcase both in the UK and US* alongside extra opportunities such as our Shakespeare in Schools tour alongside our Access and Widening Participation department.
*For those wishing to pursue a career in the States after graduation we offer graduates, who are eligible to work in the US, the chance to be showcased to US industry, where LAMDA specifically targets New York and Los Angeles based casting directors, agents and managers to support entry into the US market, just as much as the UK. Our graduates go on to collaborate, founding companies such as Mischief Theatre, produce self-created work, and excel in work and creative avenues across all sectors of the arts industry. Our alumni include John Lithgow, Iwan Rheon, Kim Cattrall, Natasha McElhorne, Tala Ashe, Chris O’Dowd, David Oyelowo, Ginnifer Goodwin, Željko Ivanek, Dana Ivey, Emily Ota, Swoosie Kurtz, Cobie Smulders and Donald Sutherland.
