SELF-CREATED WORK FROM LAMDA ALUMNI AND THEIR CONTEMPORARIES

FRIDAY 29 APRIL - SUNDAY 1 MAY Welcome to LAMDA MishMash! MishMash is the first festival of its kind, celebrating the work of LAMDA alumni and their contemporaries and sharing newly commissioned work-in-progress pieces, panel talks and workshops. Everything being shared in this festival has been created over the last 2 weeks and is in early stages of development. The ethos of the festival is to take artistic risks and platform new voices and narratives. Some artists are interested in hearing your feedback, and there are QR codes linked to feedback forms outside the studios – please do fill those in! Enjoy! We’d like to thank the Genesis Kickstart Fund, 45North, Backstage Trust, The Harbour Foundation, Kenny Wax, Geoff & Linda Lepard, Harriet Walter, all donors to the Crowdfunding Campaign and others who wish to remain anonymous for their generous support of the festival. AN INTRODUCTION FROM WILL WOLLEN, EXECUTIVE DEAN OF THE DRAMA SCHOOL I’m delighted to welcome you to the inaugural LAMDA MishMash Festival, and a programme of work created by our alumni and their collaborators. It’s a celebration of the creativity that comes from all parts of our Academy and collaborations forged in the world beyond. I am overjoyed to see the variety of work on the programme, curated by festival Founder & Director Emily Carewe, and the many ways in which our graduates are responding artistically and provocatively to the challenges of the world in which we live. Whether you are an artist or an audience member – or both! – I hope you hear new voices, see new work and have conversations to inspire. Welcome to our building and enjoy the programme!

HOW IT WORKS Choose between panel talks, workshops and 10, 20 and 40 minute performances and create a programme to suit you. Unless sold out, tickets will be available for each performance slot up until the scheduled start time. The 10 minute pieces will be performed back to back in groups of four. The total running time is 40 minutes. Look for 4x4 in the programme. The 20 minute pieces will be performed back to back with a total running time of 40 minutes. Look for Half & Half in the programme. The 40 minute pieces are stand alone pieces. There will be a 10 minute contingency around these performances.

Exploring the festival To find out where our theatre, studio and performance spaces are, use the MishMash map in the central foyer, follow the signs around the building or ask one of our Front of House Team. Throughout the weekend, enjoy the food and drink on offer, alongside local bars and restaurants, refer to our central hub board for more information. There are bars and chill out spaces to discover, so relax and enjoy your time at MishMash.
