Yang Tzu Ying Portfolio Brand Design Management: Food, Wine and Tourism
My name is Tzu Ying Yang. I’m marketing communications professional with passion for food, design and innovation. I am highly interested in healthy and sustainable food, because I believe it is the future. The portfolio is about my dining experiences both local and internationally. In addition I would like to place my emphasis on vegetarian cuisine.
I love sharing ideas. To me, sharing is caring. I enjoy spreading good and current concepts to others. When I record my life into words, pictures and after recording what I have seen and eat in my daily life and sharing with the world, I start to pay attention to the story behind what I post. Food is not just what we eat; food should deliver a vivid message that connects everyone in the world, with animals and the environment.

#1.local food I am a foodie, and I am not only interested in food culture around the world but also love to explore it in depth to see how a culture affects people’s diet and what it means to individuals. I like to record my daily meals and share it on Instagram and my blog. With the impact of western culture, more and more people (especially young generation) in Taiwan follow the new diet trend instead of local food. Traditional Chinese/Taiwanese food are tasty and meaningful for me, thus I took a series of local food from pastry to dessert, breakfast to late-night snack and try to strike a sympathetic resonance among the public.

Eat local doesn’t means intake Taiwanese food only, there are many restaurant devoted to discover local and good-quality ingredient to create great meal. Selecting local ingredients and dishes showing unique culture and speciality also means eating locally.
#2.international food The best way to discover a culture is to taste it in reality. I believe first-hand information is important. During my vacation, I like to go to local markets. I like the vibrant atmosphere, and walking between food and people. Observing what the local people eat and even talk to vendors is fascinating. Sometimes being a vegetarian is disturbing on a vocation, but that’s also motivate me to record my own experience and share. To guide people what to taste.
shot in Prague,Czech Republic / Döner kebabs are by far B erlin’s favorite fast food item,it’s a marriage between Germany and Turkish cuisine, Just about every block in this city is dotted with a couple of kebab shops.
I was shocked upon arrival the Berlin in Jan 2017. Most people think Germans emphasize on meat such as sausage, however; there are nurmeous vegan and vegetarian restaurant. Meatless eating is a trendy lifestyle now, people adjust their eating habit for animal rights, environment or religious reasons. In my hometown, most people are vegetarian or vegan because they are buddhist, it made the impression that eating vegetarian food is old school and tasteless. I want to improve the situation and turn it into a fancy thing in Taiwan just like Berlin. So I want to learn how it work, how they hold the vegan fair and promote their notions.
For me, talking to local people and tasting street food is the best way to experience the diversity.Traditional markets are my must-go place in every country, that is the best way to feel the local culture. Those touching moments are better than a tour bus that drives us to a building and lasts longer in my memory.

I posted the experience about Food Design event in my blog. What is picky eater? Sometimes people do not hate the food itself but they may be prejudice toward it. The purpose of this event is to make people rethink what’s the core concept of fastidious. Ochazuke is a dish in which hot tea is poured over cooked white rice topped with a few simple ingredients. It is a deceptively simple yet extremely tasty dish beloved by all Japanese. All side dishes and sauce are made by unpopular food such as carrot or celery. In the event, many people took food which they won’t eat normally because they can’t tell what is the ingredient from the appearance, color or odor. The second event was hold by Alice Wang Design, it bonds food with design and reading .Cher Lun Bing or translated Wheel pies are the most famous street snacks in Taiwan, the common flavor are butter and red beans. The designer want to show how food can linked to human emotion, so the flavour in this event are very unique: happy, fear, angry and disgusted. Participant simply select a mood and grab their wheel pie. The concept about food design is totally a new concept in Taiwan, food is not just food, it can be defined as an identity, culture, or even emotions. Food Design is the design process that leads to innovation on products, services or systems that intervenes in the production, procurement, preservation, transportation, preparation, presentation, consumption, or disposal of food. Food Design is the process that brings innovation on anything that has to do with food or eating.
