Letter of the President 5
Massimo Moschini President and CEO Laminazione Sottile S.p.A.
Dear Stakeholders, For years Laminazione Sottile has enjoyed constant growth, in terms of company size, number of employees, production and market presence. This expansion has necessarily been accompanied by a profound transformation, which has required the application of new modern and more efficient business models, to work within a constantly changing market. One of the most tangible signs of the transformation under way was the achievement of SA8000 certification in 2015, which testifies to the deep commitment the company has to voluntarily ensuring its actions comply with standards for Social Responsibility. In this way, human capital, which has always been an essential resource for Laminazione Sottile, plays an even more central role. The commitment of the Human Resources service, empowering all employees and collaborators, stimulating individual and team contributions to promote innovation -- these are elements that have allowed us to courageously face these new challenges. In 2015, among other things, we acquired a new company, which extended our array of products, adding flexible packaging as a new reference market. We also strengthened our presence in the auto industry, harvesting the fruits of significant investments made in both technology and in knowledge and skills. The solidity of our values and principles helps support us: respect for workers' rights, for health and safety, economic, environmental and social sustainability, continuous training, supporting talent and being open to innovation, partnerships, and research and development of products and technologies. These principles are not seen as additional costs, but rather as important leverage in a collateralised market, where competition is increasingly aggressive. Our development plan remains faithful to our vision of a financially solid company that is reliable and flexible, in line with the ethical standards we have set, respecting the law, the environment and our collaborators, a true partner to our customers and suppliers, able to provide excellent products and services in every corner of the world.
Laminazione Sottile S.p.A.
Our history: 1923-2015 7 Founded in Naples in 1923, Laminazione Sottile specialised in the creation of semi-processed aluminium products. After an initial period that focussed on the production of capsules and tubes for toothpaste, a process of industrial development began, based on diversifying products and aiming at new markets, while simultaneously investing in human resources, machinery and technology.
and alloy products, starting with casting of the plates. Production has grown year after year, reaching 100,000 tonnes per year in 2015.
The result of market repositioning can be seen clearly in the company's position as one of the largest European producers of laminated aluminium, with exports exceeding 65% of production.
In the 60s, the plant was transferred to the industrial area of San Marco Evangelista (CE), in a 150,000 square meter area. The plant still operates today, producing laminated aluminium

Corporate Governance 10
The values and ethical principles that guide Laminazione Sottile in carrying out its business activities are a resource that has been consolidated over time. These cornerstones that serve as the foundation for the actions of all those working within our company are summarised in the Code of Ethics, mainly:
Already in 2012, LS adopted the Model 231, through a resolution by its administrative body, highlighting its desire to operate based on the principles of corporate social responsibility, with the other companies of the Group also involved in the project.
moral integrity, personal honesty,
and correctness in internal and external relationships; transparency with stakeholders; respect for employees and a commitment to develop their professional skills; social commitment; protection of health, safety and the environment .
More generally, the core principle of our actions is the rejection of any behaviour not in line with an organisational and management model founded on respect for legal norms and the behavioural and procedural rules in force within the company.
Italian Legislative Decree 231/01 also foresees the institution of a Supervisory Body, provided with autonomous initiative and audit powers, which is assigned the task of supervising the effectiveness and observance of the Organisation and Management Model and ensuring it is kept up to date. The Supervisory Body of Laminazione Sottile consists of three members who are external to the Company, in order to ensure they are truly independent of the internal hierarchy.
CODE OF ETHICS The Code of Ethics gathers all those values which inspire the conduction of Laminazione Sottile's activities and represents the tool used to teach employees and collaborators to respect the highest standards of transparency and correctness in carrying out their tasks. In order to guarantee all those working with Laminazione Sottile are informed relative to the principles to be observed and the behaviours to carry out, the Code of Ethics is also disseminated externally, and supply contracts make reference to compliance with its clauses.
Social Responsibility Report 2015
The other companies in the Group, controlled by Laminazione Sottile, also have Supervisory Bodies. Finally, every Supervisory Body has its own email address that allows both external and internal notifications to be received. These notifications may involve, by way of example, violations of the Code of Ethics, the Model 231 or internal procedures on issues relative to controls aimed at preventing the crimes envisaged in Legislative
Decree 231/01. The Supervisory Body must maintain confidentiality relative to the notifications received and must protect the notifier. Currently, the corporate bodies that make up the Laminazione Sottile corporate governance system are: the Board of Directors, the Board of Statutory Auditors and the Shareholders' Meeting.
The Board of Directors was appointed by the Shareholders' Meeting on 20 June 2014, and its members remain in office until approval of the financial statements for the financial year ending at 31/12/2016.

Forced Labour Work must always be provided voluntarily on the basis of clear rules and reciprocal respect between the parties involved. Information, therefore, plays a fundamental role in guaranteeing compliance with this norm. The work performed by all staff within the company is regulated by contracts. The Company does not allow work to be obtained through threats or other types of intimidation that force workers to carry out their tasks. No worker has ever deposited funds with the Company or the originals of their identity documents.
At the time of hiring, all employees sign a contract for acceptance and are informed about the sector regulations that describe the characteristics of the Collective Labour Contract.
Discrimination Laminazione Sottile believes that human resources are a fundamental factor in successfully competing on the market and, therefore, an asset to protect and develop. Laminazione Sottile does not use any type of discrimination with reference to its employees, in terms of selecting and hiring staff, remuneration, promotions, disciplinary procedures, salary increases and production bonuses, training and dismissals.

Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining Laminazione Sottile respects workers' right to belong to unions of their choice, and the right to collective bargaining, in full respect of national regulations and agreements. All employment contracts refer to the collective contracts for the categories in question. In full respect for different responsibilities, the attention paid to maintaining dialogue with employees
has favoured the establishment of a structure focussed on problem solving. This has helped to strengthen a cooperative climate within the Company, that translates into minimal disputes and a reduction in the need for union protection. During the last five years, all strikes have been limited to adherence to nationally announced dates. No internal strikes have occurred.

Already in 2009, the company began the process of certifying its management system based on BS OHSAS 18001, subjecting it to periodic audits by an accredited certification body (Accredia).
The following elements are evidence of the concrete commitment made in this area: compliance with and adjustment to
Italian Law 81/08, achieved and guaranteed by the company RSPP, appointed by the employer; preparation of the work activity risk
assessment document, updated based on changes made to staff activities and any injuries that may occur;
implementation of an improvement program; substitution of certain personal
protective equipment, provided resources with more comfortable and effective equipment. In order to make it easier to identify "near-miss" incidents, in 2014 the management system used for internal noncompliances was amended, entrusting assessment of incidents classifiable as near misses to the Environment and Safety Area. Incidents identified as such are immediately investigated by the area managers, with the assistance of Environment and Safety employees. Through monthly meetings with management and the area managers, other preventive and corrective actions to be taken are assessed. Laminazione Sottile constantly monitors trends associated with employee injuries. The indexes considered are the following:
preparation of an evacuation and

The company periodically sets improvement objectives in order to decrease, as far as is reasonably possible, risks attributable to the working environment.
Again in 2015, intensive training activities were carried out relative to behavioural aspects and specialist issues for a total of around 4,241 hours.
The area managers ensure that the workplace health and safety plan is effectively developed and implemented, helping their employees in carrying out the activities they are assigned.
Already in 2014, a project to certify new forklift drivers was begun, based on targeted training programs (in line with the State-Region Agreement of 22/02/2012), that was completed in 2015, with 185 forklift drivers and 29 power shovel operators trained. Every forklift driver was given a license which includes notations of any infractions in using the forklift and, based on the gravity of the violation, points are subtracted until a given limit is reached. When that limit is reached, the training course must be repeated, including the exam. The system will be monitored in 2016 to measure the level of awareness achieved. Relative to housekeeping checks, as the table below shows, in 2015 a total of 164 audits were carried out, compared to 134 in 2014.
At the same time, employees cooperate in the execution of the programs established to guarantee their own health and safety and that of their colleagues. In line with Laminazione Sottile guidelines, suppliers and external companies that carry out work within the plant must contractually comply with workplace health and safety policies, respect procedures and programs and observe the indications given to them. Violation of these indications is a breach of contract and sufficient reason for termination of the same.
1
The frequency index is calculated as If= (No. injuries*100,000) /hours worked. The number of injuries is obtained considering exclusively on the job injuries.
2
The gravity index is calculated as lg= (days of work lost/hours worked)*100,000. When calculating the index, days of work lost for all events that led to abstention from work were considered.

Working hours Laminazione Sottile uses the working hours envisaged in the national collective labour contract (CCNL) of metal-mechanical industries and has shared the shift system used in the company with the RSUs.
Workers are not asked to work more hours in a week than those contractually set, although overtime may be necessary, which is paid at a higher rate, established in the contract. Checks on overtime worked are carried out monthly, and the information is provided in the payslip given to employees, clearly showing the number of hours of overtime worked. Social Responsibility Management System 28
Laminazione Sottile chose to undertake the SA8000 certification process with the firm conviction of the importance of official recognition, objectively and verifiably illustrating that it carries out its activities following social responsibility criteria.
Our management system was officially certified by ISO9001 in 1993 and the company policy is structured around the concept of Total Quality, with a philosophy of continuous improvement. Company staff is trained on quality issues and continuous improvement and aware of the importance of respecting working procedures. Environmental protection is one of the cornerstones of our management policy: all research and development activities are coordinated to reduce the impact of materials and processes on the ecosystem to a minimum. As of 2008 our Environmental Management System has been certified under UNI EN ISO 14001:2004. However, our commitment does not stop there - in fact, in 2009 our Health and Safety Management System was certified under the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. Additionally, in 2010 we voluntarily adhered to CE Regulation 1221/2009 (EMAS III). The pursuit of these objectives is the expression not just of our approach towards general improvement, but of a specific commitment to social
Social Responsibility Report 2015
responsibility relative to our employees and to strengthen relationships with institutional, social and economic entities in the local area. For these reasons, with the aim of going beyond current legislation, we decided to voluntarily adopt the requirements defined in SA8000:2008, obtaining relative certification in 2015. Most recently, in 2016 Laminazione Sottile also obtained certification as an Authorised Economic Operator (for both customers and safety). This guarantees faster and secure procedures for exports sent to the European Union and to other participating countries (e.g. the US, China and Brazil).
Roles and Responsibilities For the Social Responsibility Management System to function properly, the individual appointed as the RLS (Worker Safety Representative) has also been assigned aspects relative to social responsibility, which involves consulting with the unions, so as to facilitate relations between operating staff and management. As of the next appointment, the designation will occur in the context of the renewals of union roles. In turn, management has appointed its own social responsibility representative, with the task of ensuring respect for the requirements established in the regulations.
Staff Training Laminazione Sottile places a great deal of importance on the level of education its employees have and the need to have a stable plan for personal and professional development. With the aim of increasing awareness at all levels relative to issues of social responsibility, the implementation of an employee information, training and awareness plan was planned, through distribution of informational material (company policy, announcement of labour representatives, methods for sending notifications, etc.) and training sessions, organised during working hours.
Supplier Audits Through procedures, the Company has established the methods for selecting and certifying its suppliers, on the basis of their abilities to meet SA8000 requirements. This is not only because the regulations expressly require it, but also because it offers a concrete possibility, by involving entities upstream on the supply chain, to increase respect for internationally recognised fundamental principles. Through the information given to suppliers about the path taken by our company relative to social responsibility, they are asked to commit to complying with the same requirements, by filling out an informational questionnaire and signing a letter of commitment.
can be accessed through the company website, which allows suppliers/professionals, based on the selected profile, to begin the process of registering and certification as suppliers for the Laminazione Sottile Group.

A series of indicators have been defined for the review, as shown above, in order to highlight achievement of pre-set goals and determine further objectives for continuous improvement.
Communication Laminazione Sottile establishes and maintains procedures that describe the company's various processes, the responsibilities associated with them, and the criteria used to ensure they comply with relevant regulations. Internal communications are issued to ensure the requirements of SA8000 and the results of the Social Responsibility Management System are understood at all levels. External communication has the aim of providing all interested parties with data and other information about the Company's performance relative to application of SA8000.
Complaints and suggestions
External communication involves the preparation and publication of the SA8000 Social Accountability Report on the company's institutional website.
The methods for sending complaints are made available to all staff through a direct communication. Complaints coming from staff and/or other interested parties are registered and examined by the SA8000 worker representative who, involving the relative functions, provides a suitable response. Analysis of complaint/notification trends is periodically carried out in order to establish appropriate steps to improve company performance.
The Report represents an accountability tool which, by providing clear and significant data and information on compliance with the individual requirements established in SA8000, makes it possible to achieve a communication strategy that is widespread and transparent.
