ABOUT NUURA

With the chandelier as a centre, we offer lighting collections that enrich and complete the decor in private homes and public places. The chandelier expresses generosity and abundance. At Nuura we aim to reinterpret the chandelier, building on the Nordic design tradition. Using new technology and carefully selected materials, we strive to create long-lasting quality lighting that is beneficial to our well-being. Around the chandelier we unfold entire collections of lamps, spanning from single pendants to larger chandeliers. Each lamp within a family of light features differences yet commonalities with the other lamps in the collection, maintaining the variation and repetition as seen in nature. The product families offer the possibility to create coherence and calmness in the lighting design of a room. With inspiration from Nordic nature, we aim for a simple, yet sensuous expression making use of organic shapes and natural colours – this is our way of honouring nature and light.

SASI

With his trademark delicate sense of aesthetics, a soft design language and the use of round and harmonious shapes, Dutch designer Rick Tegelaar has created the Sasi collection for Nuura. An indirect light is carried and emphasized by the larger, rounded lampshade made in a satin finish, while the mirror effect of the smaller shade creates detailed reflections of the surroundings and light in the room. This subtle contrast in surface finish from the larger to the smaller shade is an important design motif in the collection. The integrated LED light source provides high quality lighting and is easy to replace. — Design Rick Tegelaar

The Liila collection is created around the modular wall chandelier, Liila 12. The idea behind the collection is to create wall and ceiling lighting, with glass as the focal point. The mouth-blown glass globes are mounted on metal discs, giving the glass a floating appearance, creating lighting with references to the summer sun. From the centerpiece of the collection, the Liila 12, the series unfolds into smaller wall chandeliers as well as single lamps for the wall and ceiling. — Design Sofie Refer

With a long and distinguished career in the field of lighting and a fascination for chandeliers, internationally renowned architect Paolo Rizzatto created the Rizzatto collection with inspiration from Oskar Schlemmer’s ‘Triadisches Ballett’ from 1924. APIALES

The Apiales collection is designed with inspiration from flowers and childhood memories. The collection consists of single pendants, wall lamps, and chandeliers with 6, 9 or 18 mouth-blown glass globes. From a specially produced canopy, the chandelier’s arms unfold like flower stalks. The collection is carefully produced and without visible screws or welds. The Blossi collection is inspired by the golden light during fall where sunlight reflects on colourful leaves in the forest bed. Blossi is designed to offer a warm and delicate light. The rounded mouth-blown glass shade and the simple expression build on motifs from the Nordic design tradition. The collection ranges from chandeliers to lamps for the wall, table, and floor. A specially developed LED disc is placed so that the light reflects in the mouth-blown glass shade, spreading a soft and indirect light. — Design Sofie Refer

The Anoli collection draws inspiration from silent raindrops on a rainy September day. Carefully crafted droplets and a warm expression are the essences of the series. The Anoli collection consists of neatly mouth-blown glass pendants, hand painted with a special lustre to give the glass its golden colour. The inner part of the pendant, where the light source is placed, is shaped like a drop to emphasize the design of the mouth-blown glass. The collection ranges from single pendants to three sizes of chandeliers that can be customised for private homes as well as larger, exclusive projects. — Design Sofie Refer

OUTDOOR

The Outdoor collection is a series of lamps with an IP54 rating, designed to be mounted outside. The collection consists of three designs, all extensions of the Liila and Miira collections. The IP rating gives the designs new applications outside and contributes to coherence with lamps meant for indoor use.
