Appeal for witnesses

after £20k watch raid in Hale Police are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in Hale which resulted in a £20,000 watch being stolen. At around 9.40pm on Sunday 25 October 2015, the 36-year-old victim and her brother were at home on Westgate in Hale, when the house was approached by three men armed with a baseball bat. Having climbed in through an upstairs window, the men then searched the bedrooms before heading down the stairs to the lounge. They then confronted the victim and her brother and demanded the victim hand over the watch she was wearing. Having snatched the watch, the offenders ran out the front door. The first offender is described as around 5ft 7in tall, slim-medium build and wearing black hooded top with the hood up, black gloves and a full face mask in black. The other two men were wearing similar, dark coloured, clothing. Detective Inspector Helen Bell said: "We believe this was a targeted burglary and the offenders were specifically looking for the watch. "At this time we are not linking this to any other robberies or aggravated burglaries in the area. "We have increased patrolling in the area, and we are encouraging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the time to contact police." Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111

Man steals

money after

threatening staff

A man threatened staff with a knife and demanded money during a robbery at a shop in Salford. At around 3.40pm on Thursday 29 October 2015, the man walked into Greggs on Seaford Road, Pendleton and climbed over the counter. He demanded money and threatened workers with a knife. When he was given the money, he left. The man is described as being white, 5ft 8in, in his late teens/early 20s, of slim build, had a thin face and bad complexion. He wore a grey hooded top, dark Nike tracksuit bottoms and black trainers. Detective Constable Paul Reynolds said: “We have obtained an image from the shop’s CCTV. Although it isn’t the best of quality, the bag the man is carrying is distinctive and I would ask anyone who may recognise the person in the picture to contact us.” Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 5351 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Teenage girl sexually assaulted

Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in broad daylight in Bury. The attack took place at around 5.15pm on Saturday 24 October 2015, as the 13-year-old victim was walking along Stand Lane in Radcliffe. She walked past the offender and he followed her for a short time before

walking up from behind and sexually assaulting her. As the young girl turned around in shock, the offender ran off in the direction of Radcliffe New Road. The victim ran home to tell her mother, who rang the police. The offender is described as white, in his late 50s or early 60s, around 5ft 7in

tall, of medium build. He was wearing a black cap with a white symbol on the front, a cream and blue jacket, blue trousers and white trainers. Constable Gayle Dickinson said: “The victim has been left understandably distressed by this attack, and has been unable to leave her house alone as a result. “The psychological damage

done by this kind of sexual assault should not be underestimated, and likewise, anyone capable of targeting a young girl walking alone has the capability to strike again. “The image we have provided is not hugely detailed, but I am hoping that it will jog people’s memories based on the clothing this man was wearing.

“If you were in the area at the time and you saw anyone wearing this type of clothing, please contact police and help us keep young girls in the area safe.” Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 241015/1679, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
