NEW YEAR NEW TRENDS

As we enter the coldest months of the year it’s easy (and warm!) to snuggle behind layers and layers of jumpers, cardigans and coats but just because it’s chilly it doesn’t mean we have to loose our sense of style. My favourite pieces this season are the ‘Coatigan’ and the ‘shirtigan’ two fabulous pieces that can really jazz up any winter wardrobe. Mustard mix Coatigan with stretch belt

Safari shirtigan with tan stretch belt and hat

These are a mixture between a coat and a cardigan and really spice up a winter look without compromising on comfort and warmth. I like to add a stretchy belt and hat rather than a hood. These items are freesize and fit an 8-22, freesize and fabulous as I like to call them!

Don’t be afraid to use colour this season either, there are some fantastic colours that are really on trend. My favourites are mustard and red. Add a splash of either by introducing a bright scarf or belt. Bold colours and prints are bang on trend at the moment so try adding a few pieces to your collection and see how you feel. Once you refresh your look in this way you’ll never look back.

‘Tis the season and what better time to truly sparkle than the party season itself? I never need an excuse to get the glitter out and genuinely look forward to an opportunity to dress up. I once heard it said that you shouldn’t save your best clothes until best, everyday is special and a brand new opportunity to be the very best version of yourself. Dressing your best helps you feel your best and that’s what it’s all about at TOTT Boutique. Accessories are often forgotten or overlooked, particularly if you’re busy like me. However, having the right items to hand can transform your look from plain jane to lady jane in no time. My go to accessory in winter is definitely a colourful scarf, warmth and pizzaz all in one, what’s not to like?

Versatility is key for me and these big and beautiful sheer scarfs can be used for so many looks and will take you all year round as well. A shawl over a cocktail dress in winter and a pashmina over a swimsuit in summer. I always wear them, I even wrapped my babies in them when they were sleepy, put them down as a picnic blanket in summer and wrapped myself up in them when outside dining during lockdown.

Every woman needs a LBD or ‘little black dress’ but sometimes they can leave you feeling uncomfortable, on show and a little overdone. This winter I’m changing ‘little’ to oversized. Yes, I said what I said! Believe it or not an oversized dress can actually be more flattering than a tight fitting one.

My absolute favourite is our freesize and fabulous tunnel dress. It fits a size 8-22, comes in a range of colours and can easily be dressed up with a sparkly necklace or down with a scarf and boots. I love versatile clothing and this is certainly one of those items. It’s been a best seller for obvious reasons, roomy, flattering and feminine.

That’s the same dress on two completely different ladies. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s sensational on both shapes and sizes.

I hope I’ve given you some ideas and inspiration and look forward to introducing you to some more pieces in spring.
