The Ashton Memorial was completed in 1909 and opened to the public just a few weeks before Lancaster Town Hall.

�shton Memorial The Ashton Memorial is a folly dominating the Lancaster skyline and is visible for many miles around. It was commissioned by Lord Ashton as a tribute to his late wife and was completed in 1909. With its stunning marble floor, sweeping staircases and magnificent views, the Ashton Memorial has become Lancaster’s most exclusive venue for weddings and civil partnerships. The large windows allow light to stream in all around and the grand ceiling has colourful murals framing a magnificent ornate light fitting.
