Lindisfarne Lindisfarne emerged from Tyneside in the 1970s and quickly carved out a unique place for themselves as one of British rock’s most original bands. Their pioneering sound, combining acoustic instruments like mandolin and fiddle with their electric blues roots, proved the perfect medium to deliver the catchy, memorable songs provided by the band’s resident writers Alan Hull and Rod Clements. Dr Feelgood with special guest ‘The Section’ Dr. Feelgood remains one of the most popular and exciting live rhythm and blues acts in the world. The raw and uncompromising style of their performance resulted in the album Stupidity that immediately went to the number one position in the UK charts. Saturday 11 March 8pm £19. 16+

ABBAMANIA ABBAMANIA’s tribute to ABBA at the height of their popularity is incredible and their performance is of the highest quality. Keith James in concert ‘The songs of Leonard Cohen 1934-2016’ With a lifetime reputation of performing in the exact way as the legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen and an undying love of the ‘pure song’, Keith James gives you a concert of Cohen’s amazing material in the most intimate and sensitive way imaginable, exposing the solitary inner strength of his greatest songs in their original perfect form. John Coghlan’s Quo Original Status Quo member John Coghlan formed John Coghlan’s Quo during the late 90s and through various line-ups has enjoyed regular gigs all over the UK and Europe. The current band consists of John, Baz Barry and Mick Hughes from NWOBHM Boogie Band ‘Predatür’, and Rick Chase completing the line-up. The prime aim is to recreate an authentic “70s Quo Sound”. Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham Two of Scotland’s most loved traditional musicians. Aly, a stunning traditional style fiddler, Phil, one of Scotland’s 25 most influential people and a dazzling accordion player. Simply the best traditional musicians you are likely to hear. Peatbog Faeries Celebrating 25 years as a band in 2016, they bring Celtic Dance music into the 21st century from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip hop, reggae and more. This inventive and unique approach brings a true flavour of traditional Scottish music whilst offering high octane Celtic dance music. Saturday 25 March 7.30pm £17. 16+

Promenade Concert Orchestra - Music For You ‘Music from the Palm Court’ After last year’s successful ‘Music from the Palm Court’ the PCO offers its 10th such programme with a selection of sea-side and spa music from the last 100 years and more. There will also be a new composition by local musician, Julian Davies. Imagine sitting in a Palm Court dressed in your Sunday-best, surrounded by palms and aspidistras, enjoying lovely tuneful music, then this is the place to be! Sunday 2 April 3pm £15, £13, £7.


The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Charlie is a little boy with a very big dream, he wants to be a magician. By saving his pocket money he buys The Big Book of Magic for Trainee Magicians,and sets off to Mr Zacoor’s Toy Shop to buy his spellbook. But Mr Zacoor is no ordinary shopkeeper, he’s a real life Sorcerer, with a very special job for Charlie. A delightful children’s show with a blend of music, puppetry and storytelling. Tuesday 4 April 2pm £7, £25 family of four.

Swing Commanders They’re back! Lancashire’s premier vintage quintet pull into the Platform with their usual potent cocktail of hot solos, harmonies and pretty dresses. Expect live hits from the likes of Glenn Miller and the singing cowboys of yesteryear presented with skill, energy and a big big smile. Friday 7 April 8pm £13, £12.

Sheelanagig Sheelanagig, are releasing their 5th album “Beard Town” recorded at the legendary Real World Studios and are hitting the road for a UK tour. They have become something of a West Country institution for the past decade. A quintet with a wellstocked armoury of stringed instruments – banjo, fiddle, double bass etc – and a bagful of joint-jumping tunes, these boys sure know how to get a party started. Saturday 8 April 8pm £12.50. 16+

Morecambe Band Easter Concert Morecambe Band are pleased to present their annual Good Friday Easter concert at the Platform. Under the direction of Steve Simpson you are sure to be entertained with a varied programme to suit all ages.

The Big Chris Barber Band Chris Barber OBE is one of the last legends around and an icon of traditional jazz in UK. With his band they stand out as one of the finest of its kind anywhere in the world. From New Orleans style to late 20s Ellington, played with extraordinary panache and skill.

T.Rextasy T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc’s very own T.Rex. They have become widely accepted as the world’s only official tribute show dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc’s family, estate and catalogue management, not to mention original members of T.Rex. The band has been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’. Saturday 22 April 8pm £19.50.

Sincerely yours… The Vera Lynn Story Lorrie Brown has been performing a tribute show to Vera Lynn for over 20 years and in 2013 was named the UK No.1 Vera Lynn tribute. Lorrie is now taking the next step and beginning a tour of a show that she has devised with her husband and co-producer Gary Birtles.

Connie Lush and the Stumble Connie has been recognised as one of the finest Blues singers in the UK today. Her incredible stage presence and powerful vocal have also been recognised overseas as she was twice voted “European Blues Vocalist of the year”. Joining Connie for a night of a blistering mix of blues, soul and old school R&B, are The Stumble, who have been wowing audiences with their live performances for the past 20 years. Disco Inferno 1974 | 1984 It’s definitely a Boogie Wonderland. Let’s go round again as the Boogie Knights & Disco Divas take to the dance floor and travel back to the dance decade between 1974 & 1984 when disco music ruled the world. DJs Steve Middlesborough & Phil Hayward play all the classic dance-floor packers from dance-masters Chic and Stevie Wonder. Sunday 30 April 8pm-1am (last entry 11pm) £10. 18+

Derek Ryan in concert Derek Ryan has become one of country music’s leading entertainers and makes his inaugural visit to Morecambe for a performance of his self-penned hits along with a sprinkling of country classics. His theatre shows contain music featured on his studio albums including ‘God’s Plan’, ‘Life Is A River’ and ‘Hold on to your Hat’. Thursday 11 May 7.30pm £21.

The Stones The Stones bring to the stage all the energy and excitement of a live Rolling Stones concert, with a front man who looks, sounds and moves like Mick Jagger himself, a young Keith Richards, and a band that kicks out the music with the same loose but tight feel of the Rolling Stones. The greatest tribute band in the world pays tribute to the greatest rock and roll band in the world. Friday 12 May 7.30pm £17.50. 14+


King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys 2017 is the year that King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys celebrate a remarkable 30 years on the road. Rough, tough and always rocking, the band have delivered nearly 6,500 performances in 21 countries and made 73 television appearances, including several on Blue Peter, The Teletubbies and The Gadget Show. Saturday 13 May 7.30pm £14.

Simon and Garfunkel Story Direct from its success in London’s West End, a SOLD OUT UK tour and standing ovations at every performance, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is back! Promenade Concert Orchestra Music For You ‘10th Anniversary Concert’ It does not seem like ten years since we started with our first concert celebrating ten years of the Platform as a venue and 100 years since the Promenade Station opened! So we have a programme of new and old favourites from those ten years of programmes plus a new composition written for us by Bethan Morgan-Williams, who, as well as playing violin in the PCO for a year, is also a composer of repute. Sunday 21 May 3pm £15, £13 (concession) £7 (child).

Monster Ceilidh Band Their experimentation with electronic beats, ‘simply stunning’ (Songlines), has its roots in the traditional but produces something innovative, contemporary and dynamic. The result is a crucible for smelting riffs, massive chord progressions, intense electronics, folk tunes and a wide variety of styles from simply some of the UK’s finest folk musicians. Friday 26 May 7.30pm £12.50. 16+


Dominic Kirwan and Lisa Stanley One of Ireland’s greatest entertainers, Dominic Kirwan hits the road again in 2017 with a new show. Accompanying Dominic on the tour will be Lisa Stanley, one of Ireland’s top female vocalists and star of TV Channel 389 Keep It Country’s The Lisa Stanley show. Dominic and Lisa bring their own inimitable style to the rich musical heritage of their homeland. Performing a selection of various musical styles, including, pop, country and rock n roll. Wednesday 31 May 7.30pm £22.

A Splendid Day Out - Airship Pirates Ho M’hearties - Airship pirates have taken over the splendid and faintly ridiculous A Splendid Day Out on the 3rd & 4th of June. The Platform has been hijacked as a centre of piracy and fun. Visit the market, duel over teacups and be entertained. Major happenings up and down the prom and all with a piratical swagger. Saturday and Sunday 3-4 June 11am-4pm £3 on the door.

howdenjones howdenjones are song -writers. Exploring folk, blues, and contemporary styles, with 15 years’ experience, they specialize in playing at community venues all over the country. Their intimate show is set at the heart of the community, bringing together a celebration of place and people. See them on home turf, doing what they do best. Friday 9 June 8pm £12.50, £11 concession.

The Bon Jovi Experience The Bon Jovi Experience are the world’s first and finest tribute and the fact that they have performed live with Jon Bon Jovi himself and are featured on the official Bon Jovi website tells you all you need to know. Front man Tony Pearce bears an uncanny resemblance to Jon Bon Jovi and his soaring vocals complement the tight musicianship of the band. You will rock ‘til you drop. Saturday 10 June 8pm £15. 18+


Andy Fairweather Low and The Low Riders Andy Fairweather Low first came to prominence as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, ‘(If Paradise is) Half As Nice’ .But if you were paying close attention then you might have picked up a clue in the magnificent ‘Gin House Blues’ to Andy’s future musical collaborations. Friday 16 June 7.30pm £20.

Syd Lawrence Orchestra The ‘Best Big Band in the Land’, directed by Chris Dean, brings you this glittering gem of a show, celebrating 50 years of touring. See a truly hypnotic combination, all presented with a mixture of fun, laughter, excitement and comedy to make for a swinging and memorable evening.

The Raymond Froggatt Show A true survivor of the many vagaries of the music business and life itself, whether self-inflicted or not. Now in his 51st year as a professional musician, Raymond and his band are still in great demand, still touring still recording, and his songs are still being covered by other artists. Raymond and his band, most of whom have been at Ray’s side for those 50 years, show no signs of slowing down. Friday 23 June 7.30pm £15.

Just like that! The Tommy Cooper show Tommy Cooper was a comic genius making him an international star. “Just Like That!” embarks on a UK tour after sell-out success in the West End and stars John Hewer giving “a perfect illusion of time travel” as the man in the fez. Complete with live musical accompaniment, this critically acclaimed tribute is the perfect celebration of one of Britain’s favourite comedians. Saturday 24 June 7.30pm £14, £12.


Sons of Pitches Sons of Pitches will be hitting the road again in 2017 with a brand-new themed touring show. It will have a unique, never-before seen flavour all of its own! Following on from the incredible successes of their two 2016 tours, where they wowed over 40,000 very satisfied fans, they will be bringing their “SOPTV Show” in what will be their biggest ever UK tour. Hackney Colliery Band Hackney Colliery Band have had a phenomenal few years. From playing a 45 minute set at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and sets at the MOBO, Brit and Mercury Awards to live sessions on BBC Two, BBC Radio, Jazz FM and worldwide airplay, from collaborations with the likes of Amy Winehouse and Madness to selling out clubs across, these east London musicians haven’t stopped.
