Location
At just 10 minutes’ drive from Entebbe International Airport and on the main road to Kampala, the hotel is ideally placed for those coming in to the city or planning further journeys. Yet, while Entebbe’s commercial centre is on its doorstep, it also fringes the city’s botanical gardens and its eight storeys means you can see beyond the garden’s lush expanse of palm and cypress tree tops to Lake Victoria. It
is a quite magnificent view. You can step out from the hotel and wander amid the exotic plants and trees of the gardens while Entebbe Zoo (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre) and the ferry dock for Ngamba Island – a forested sanctuary for 49 orphaned chimpanzees – are also just a short walk away. This part of the Entebbe peninsula is very picturesque and tucked in among all the greenery you’ll find some fantastic beaches such as Kitubulu Forest and Beach, which is around 30 minutes away on foot.

Style and character
The hotel has been designed to make the most of its lakeside locations with floor to ceiling windows and balconies to soak in the view. The communal rooftop area gives every guest a share of the best vantage point with its wraparound terrace dotted with sumptuous sofas to experience sundowners to die for.
The décor is tasteful and earthy with shades of cream and beige throughout. The neutral colour scheme adds to the spacious feel of the place with its double height reception bathed in natural light. Of course, that wonderful view out over the lake makes every room feel limitless.
Service is attentive, yet relaxed and friendly, offering a personal touch to every guest.
Rooms
With 48 rooms, K Hotels can just about lay claim to being a boutique hotel. Every room is spacious and stylishly appointed, but, if you can, opt for the Junior Lake Suite or two-room Classic Lake Suite, which have balcony views over the African Great Lake.
All rooms provide an excellent level of refinement and comfort with inviting beds dressed in fine linen sheets, truly massive bathrooms with walk-in showers, satellite TV, work and seating area and complimentary wi-fi.
Food and drink
The hotel’s dining options include an excellent à la carte restaurant with European and Indian dishes on offer. It provides for a dramatic dinner with its floor-to-ceiling windows, but if you really want to embrace the views, the rooftop restaurant serves an all-day menu of light bites such as burgers,
sushi and wraps. The top floor also has a bar for drinks around the pool or to savour at the end of the day, watching the sun sink into the lake.
An extensive buffet breakfast is also served each morning.
Facilities
This is a hotel well aware of just how good its lakeside views are so its rooftop is a centre of activity. Sharing the eighth floor you’ll find an infinity pool, which is open from sunrise to sunset, as well as a good-sized fitness centre with cardio machines, free weights and a personal trainer on hand.
The rooftop bar and dining area becomes a chilled-out nightclub on weekend evenings with DJs attracting a local cool crowd.
With the hotel’s proximity to Entebbe’s CBD, K Hotels attracts plenty of business travellers and has a state-of-the-art conference room that can hold up to 100 guests as well as rooms for smaller meetings.
The hotel also has some of the city’s best visitor attractions on its doorstep and excursions and guided tours can be booked at reception.
