University Quality Alliance (UQA)
International students are welcome at Langara, located in spectacular Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are a public, post-secondary institution located on a park-like campus in a quiet, residential neighbourhood between the airport and downtown Vancouver. We are one of Canada’s premier University Transfer colleges.
Access to Canada’s top universities is limited to students with excellent academic performance and high English language ability. For students who do not meet the criteria for direct entry into first year, transferring to these universities is possible by studying one to two years at Langara College in Vancouver. The University Quality Alliance program was started to assist students to access Canada’s top universities. The universities in the UQA program include:

Note: ESL Entry Level is determined by a placement test upon arrival at Langara College. Length of ESL study dependent on placement level.

STEP – Skills Training for English Proficiency
LEAP – Langara English for Academic Purposes
Skills Training for English Proficiency (STEP) welcomes international and Canadian students whose first language is not English. STEP is an exciting, full-time, intensive, lower-level English language program focusing on the environment and culture of Vancouver and Canada.
LEAP is an intensive English program primarily designed to prepare international and Canadian students whose first language is not English for full-time study at English language universities and colleges. Individuals who require high level English skills for personal or professional reasons can also benefit from studying in LEAP.
University Transfer: 2+2 The University Transfer program was set up to allow students to begin university studies at a college (2 years) and then transfer to a university to complete the degree (2 years). Transfer enables students to move from one post-secondary institution to another and receive credit for prior study.
Career Programs Generally, our Career Diploma and Certificate Programs are for students who want practical training for one or two years before they enter the job market.
Areas of Study Our range of offerings lets you choose your own educational path. We offer three bachelor’s degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA); the Bachelor of Recreation Management (BRM); and the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA); as well as a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and citations in the following areas: Faculty of Arts: Creative Arts, Humanities Faculty of Sciences: Health, Math, Sciences Faculty of Social Sciences and Management: Applied Social Sciences, Business, Social Sciences

International students want to succeed in their academic studies. The Langara PLUS Program supports this goal and further enhances an international student’s experience in Canada. This program is specifically designed for students to gain additional experiences, skills and knowledge while at Langara College. Langara PLUS features four categories of activity offered through Langara College. These include study skills workshops, social events, recreational activities, and lifestyle workshops. All workshops and events attended are recorded in the Langara PLUS Passport. All international students registered at Langara College are eligible to participate in this program. To be competitive both academically and professionally, students need more than a high Grade Point Average (GPA). They need to be well-rounded with a variety of experiences. Langara PLUS offers those experiences. Upon completion of the Langara PLUS Program, an international student is awarded a ‘Statement of Achievement’. This document may enhance a student’s application for academic or employment pursuits.
