From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

ACADEMIC REGALIA

It is traditional for graduands and faculty to wear academic regalia at convocation ceremonies. Academic regalia has its history in the academic costumes of 14th and 15th century universities in England, particularly Oxford and Cambridge. The style of academic regalia reflects the type of credential and institution that awards it. At Langara College, the President wears our institutional regalia, a green gown with orange accents. Faculty members wear regalia of the university from which they obtained their highest credential. Our graduands wear black mortarboards and gowns with either a hood or tippet in the following colours: • Bachelor of Nursing – Purple Hood • Post-Graduate Certificate in Nursing – Purple Hood with Silver Lining • Bachelor of Business Administration – Red Hood • Bachelor of Recreation Management – Turquoise Hood • All other credentials – Rust and Green Tippet

CREDENTIALS GR ANTED Langara College grants a variety of credentials including bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and citations.
