What began as a ropewalk is nowadays a company with a highly efficient, modern machine park. Rope was and is our trademark. We are proud of what we have built. Together with our suppliers, our customers and our employees we have grown into a leading rope manufacturer. This is based on generations of experience. We have moved with the times, without forgetting our past. Since 2010 the company is owned by the eighth generation Langman. Words like passion, emotion, pride and confidence play a major role. And that is what makes our family business very special! Our objective is to supply maximum added value, whilst continuing to meet the needs of the user. To realize this, we utilize our strengths on a daily basis: quality, innovation, reliability, know-how and service. Our product range consists of over 3,500 products. Daily we produce over 200,000 meters of rope and yarn with a diameter up to 150 mm. The founders would be incredibly proud of the company today. It continues to be a family business, and intends to remain so, while it strives for a key role in the world market.

R & D and Testing facilities
We are committed to corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Therefore you will always find natural ropes in our product range and are we investing in sustainable machines and environmentally conscious use of raw materials. Also during the production process, we are constantly aware of our energy consumption. To the smallest detail, both in our office and factory. We continuously invest in the development of better, cleaner, faster and more reliable machines. Moreover, at the production of our ropes there is no emissions to air, water or soil.

“Since generations a matter of course with special attention to quality and a sustainable world” Natural ropes Ropes have been made out of natural fibres since generations, and they still have a place in our modern production. Especially now oil becomes more expensive and the demand for natural substitutes grows. Our natural ropes are produced from high quality raw materials (yarn). Moreover, at the production of our ropes there is no emissions to air, water or soil. Our natural ropes are nowadays widely used for rigging classic vessels, but also in the sports industry it is frequently used as climbing ropes, pull ropes or gymnastic swing ropes. Because of the natural look it is also used for decoration purposes.

This is because they offer a combination of properties; higher tensile strength, better abrasion resistance, weather and wind resistance. Due to the growing demand for rope with increased breaking strength and lower elongation we decided a few years ago to invest in a revolutionary rope pre-stretching and coating machine.
We are constantly working on new solutions. Sometimes to respond to a customer’s demand for a unique solution, sometimes working on a practical problem where no solution exists. In both cases we listen to the market. Only then we can develop a customized solution and take all factors into account. Any problem or issue? We do everything to help you. We have the knowledge and ability to make a rope to meet your individual needs, whether it should be cut or spliced. Touwfabriek Langman is world-wide also the wellknown producer of high quality fenders and bow fenders.
A revolutionary asset for the rope industry and us. Our R & D team was closely involved in the development of this new installation. It was an exciting project, but we are glad that we have invested in this machine. Thanks to this innovative installation we are now able to increase the breaking load up to 50% and reducing the stretch to a minimum. Also thermal shrinking, thermal and cold stretching, impregnating, dyeing, coating and fire retardant impregnation are nowadays one of our possibilities. We supply quality ropes thanks to the involvement of our employees, the machine builders and our suppliers. This commitment can be translated into entrepreneurship with guts, which results in innovative products that are making a difference.
