WHO WE ARE

Established over five decades ago by Darrell and Mary Lanz in Eugene, Oregon, Lanz Cabinets was built on a foundation of providing handcrafted custom cabinetry with dependable service to a local market. Lanz has grown from that groundwork under the leadership of its current president, Kyle Bressler, son-inlaw of Brent Lanz (the founders’ eldest son), and stands today as a progressive cabinet manufacturing company that sells multifamily cabinetry, countertops, and sinks throughout the western United States.

Over the past 60 years, we have expanded our quality craftsmanship from single-family homes to manufacturing and designing cabinetry for multifamily housing projects.

Specializing in apartments, senior housing, and mixed-use buildings, we set the standard in the Northwest. We have three factories and seven field offices on the west coast from Seattle to San Francisco and east to the Rocky Mountains.

WHAT WE DO

In the multifamily housing market, Lanz Cabinets is committed to delivering top quality, high volume, and competitively priced cabinetry along with quartz and granite countertops to the Western United States. Lanz is your single-source, turnkey provider from bidding through project completion.

Lanz design staff is the first step in translating two-dimensional plans into three-dimensional products. Designers are experienced in the unique requirements of multifamily construction and knowledgeable in jurisdictional code and compliance. Lanz’s semi-custom approach allows flexibility in cabinet heights, widths, and depths and does not require modular dimensioning.

At Lanz, we set ourselves apart through our production of both traditional face frame and European frameless styles of cabinets for the multifamily industry.

Each cabinet Lanz produces is specially made for a specific job. Based on the unique design requirements of a given project, we can make just the right products to suit your needs. Lanz high tech, lean manufacturing approach allows for a continual flow of parts, maximum efficiency, yield management, and quality control every step of the way.

Components are identified by a specific bar code and scanned at each machine for accuracy of processing.

To meet demand and timelines, our scheduling, manufacturing, and purchasing departments work closely together in a coordinated and streamlined process to meet the project schedule.

Lanz manufactures its own doors for every project. From budget-friendly TFL to highend mirror finish PET, Lanz can meet the design intent of most any project. Lanz presses it own RTF doors, hand assembles wood, TFL and PET 5-piece shaker doors, and edge bands a full array of slab styles including TFL, laminate, and natural/ engineered wood veneers.

A partner in the KCMA’s Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP), we apply annually to receive certification, by showing compliance in the five following areas: air quality, product resource management, process resource management, environmental stewardship, and community relations.

QUALITY TESTED

Lanz is an active member of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA). Our cabinets are ANSI/KCMA 161.1 certified. Cabinets bearing the ANSI/KCMA 161.1 certification have been extensively tested according to rigorous standards developed, and periodically revised, by a committee operating under rules set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and developed by the KCMA.

Lanz maintains service field offices in its major markets which are staffed with professional delivery and installation teams for site evaluation and logistics to ensure success on your projects.

With our large fleet of trucks and field yards throughout the Western United States, we build and stage each order before delivery, so it is ready to go when you need it.

Our continued investment into machinery and our people allows us to manufacture and assemble all components, doors, and cabinets in our hometown of Eugene, Oregon. Having better control of our supply chain allows us to meet our clients’ schedules, adjust quickly to market demand, and be flexible in our manufacturing practice.

CABINETS

FRAMELESS CONSTRUCTION

Featuring the contemporary lines of European cabinet construction, our frameless cabinet collections are defined by a closely fitted, flush overlay door on the cabinet case. With the absence of a face frame, hinges are fastened to the inside panels of the cabinet box. Frameless construction is known for offering easy access to the storage space inside and providing a modern, clean, and uniform look outside.

FACE FRAME CONSTRUCTION

In the tradition of fine cabinetry, our face frame cabinet collections have solid wood frames to which the cabinet doors and hinges are attached. The face frame is composed of vertical stiles and horizontal rails. The doors are offered in full overlay. Full overlay provides a larger door and wider overlay to conceal more of the face frame.

DOOR STYLES

The two basic types of doors are slab and shaker. Shaker doors have a frame with a recessed center panel in the center of the door. Slab doors offer a continuous flat surface for a more modern aesthetic.

SHAKER DOOR

Classic, reliable, and always complete with a stunning finish; shaker doors offer an elegant aesthetic that is versatile enough to fit any space. The recessed center panel is accentuated by a mitered frame style that gives your chosen finish a new dimension of beauty.

SLAB DOOR

For a modern, simple look, slab doors are the best option to top off your cabinet. As a single panel door, it has no joints or breaks, so your chosen finish has more room to shine.

PARTICLE BOARD

CORE MATERIALS

Plywood core cabinets offer the most durability and a great choice for high-use situations. Integrated finished ends that match door faces in T.F.L and thermofoil will be constructed with particle board or M.D.F core.

Particle board is our standard cabinet core material. ⅝” thick, it is sturdy, economical, and provides a smooth surface for wood veneers, Manhattan P.E.T. and thermally fused laminates (T.F.L).

SPLIT SCHEMES

When the choice between finishes becomes too difficult, Lanz offers split scheme orders for your cabinets. Having a split scheme between your upper and lower cabinets will allow you to create a unique space that truly makes a statement.

T.F.L FINISHES

Many thermally fused laminate patterns simulate real wood in its natural state, as well as stained and weathered finishes and textures. Our display of solid colors replicate painted surfaces that resist chipping and require less maintenance than painted doors.

Thermally Fused Laminate (T.F.L) panels are produced by fusing a resin-based sheet of decorative paper directly to a particle board core. Pressure and heat activate the resinbased sheet and create a cross-linked bond with the core. This seals the core making it impossible to peel away.

Rigid Thermofoil (R.T.F) panels are made from a thin layer of vinyl, already textured and colored, is vacuum pressed with high heat and pressure until it is bonded to a Laminated Medium-Density Fiberboard (M.D.F) substrate core. This way the vinyl layer is perfectly shaped to the door, giving it a durable surface that wont warp or crack easily.

P.E.T FINISHES

Available in both high gloss and super matte finishes, our Manhattan P.E.T. (Polyethylene terephthalate) is a thermoplastic polymer film laminated to an MDF or particle board core. It is safe, durable, water, UV, scratch, and fingerprint resistant.

Polyethelene Terephthalate (P.E.T) is a thermoplastic polymer, meaning is can soften when heated. A P.E.T panel consists of a thin sheet of P.E.T polymer that is laminated to a Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) or particleboard substrate core. Lanz offers P.E.T doors in either High Gloss or Super Matte finishes.

HIGH GLOSS

High gloss finishes are more pronounced and grab the eye with their shine. Being highly reflective, the high gloss finishes allow your drawers and/ or cabinets to be more noticed and appreciated. Our 0.5 mm thick P.E.T. surface results in a more reflective and ripple-free surface (standard product thickness is 0.1 – 0.3 mm).

Lanz offers 6 veneer options split into Value (Beech, Oak, Alder) and Premium woods (Maple, Cherry, Walnut ). Our Value woods are available in 12 finish options while our 3 Premium woods are only offered in a natural clear finish.

Each finish and wood option has a unique character that will liven up any space. From bright popping choices like Java and Desert finishes, to deep sophisticated Bark and Lava finishes.

A Wood Veneer is a thin sheet of wood that has been cut off from a larger slab. This thin sheet is glued to a substrate core to complete the panel. Since the veneer is solid wood, it will maintain the beautiful color and rich grain that the larger piece of wood has. This makes it a sustainable option that is great on price without compromising quality.

Maple, Cherry, and Walnut are available in a natural clear finish that allows the natural color, grain, and character of the wood show through.

Lanz natural clear finish coat, featured on all offered species, allows the natural color, grain, and character of the wood to show through while also protecting your cabinets. When choosing paint-grade cabinets (unfinished, painted on site by others), they will be constructed from Maple hardwood.

Walnut: Walnut is known as one of the hardest, densest, and most shock-resistant hardwoods. Walnut features a rich brown color with a beautiful sheen.

To maintain the beauty of your wood cabinets, simply care for them as you would any fine furniture. Lanz Cabinets uses state of the art ultraviolet-cured finishes and quality lacquers, which do not require wax.

CLEANING WOOD SURFACES

Apply with a clean soft cloth and buff with a clean dry cloth.

HEAVY CLEANING

Mild soap and water may be used to clean oil, grease, or other material from wood surfaces. All soap residues should be rinsed by using a clean damp cloth. Immediately dry with a clean dry cloth.

LIGHT CLEANING

Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a clean, soft, damp cloth and dry with a clean, dry cloth.

3. IMPORTANCE OF DRYING

Failure to dry your cabinet may result in finish damage and possible damage to the underlying wood.

CLEANING THERMOFOIL

Doors and cabinets with laminate or PET plastic surfaces are manufactured using materials that are designed for easy care. Years of service and beauty can be maintained by the following easycare suggestions.

HEAVY CLEANING

Oils, grease, and other soils that do not clean with water may be removed using a solution of mild soap and water. The surface should be rinsed immediately with a clean, damp cloth and dried thoroughly.

LIGHT CLEANING

Clean all spills immediately using a clean soft cloth dampened with clean water, dry immediately.

LOADING SHELVES

When our cabinets are mounted by a Lanz Cabinet installer or mounted according to our instructions, each square foot of shelf will safely hold up to 25 pounds but not to exceed 450 pounds total weight per cabinet, when applied slowly, over five minutes.

CLEANING BREAD BOARDS LOADING DRAWERS

Concealed white plastic breadboards are non-porous which makes them safe for food handling. Designed to be washed in the dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing. We recommend that you remove the breadboard from the dishwasher before the drying cycle to prevent the board from warping. Stand the board on end to dry.

To avoid trapping moisture in the cabinet, make sure it is completely dry. For deeper cleaning, deodorizing, and whitening, make a paste made from equal parts of baking soda, salt, and water, and scrub.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (IKCMA) tests drawers and drawer guides with 15 pounds per square foot of drawer load and operates the drawer repeatedly (25,000 cycles) to test for durability and load handling capabilities.

Quality furniture such as these cabinets cannot withstand constant washing or exposure to water. Immediately dry off any areas where water has spilled. Keep all surfaces dry.

Nitrogen-containing compounds, such as ammonia, can damage the finish of your cabinets. Avoid using detergents, strong soaps, or abrasive cleaners, as they may be harmful to the finish.

PRODUCTS

While spray waxes may temporarily increase the sheen of your cabinets, the build-up will eventually need to be removed, which may damage the finish. Do not use wax on thermofoil doors or laminate surfaces.

Lanz’s standard cabinet construction is blind upper cabinet corners and void base cabinet corners. In face frame cabinet construction an optional upgrade blind base corner is available in partial 12” or a full 24”. Frameless construction only allows for a 12” blind base corner.

As a standard option, Lanz will match the finish of the back/ sides of your islands, peninsulas, and microwave hoods with your chosen doors/frames. For the bottom of cabinets, Lanz will finish with a sleek white TFL finish. TOP OF BASE CABINETS

Cabinets such as desks, room dividers and bookcases may require matching finished tops. Please consult your salesperson for appropriate material selections.

Lanz uses solid hardwood scribe molding in face frame cabinetry for the transition from finished end of the cabinet or filler to the wall. The finish is stained to match the frame of the cabinets. Any gaps due to irregularities in the wall will be covered by the scribe molding. Our optional Base shoe masks any gaps where the cabinet meets the floor. This flexible solid wood molding creates a nice transition from cabinet toe skins to where they meet the flooring. QUARTZ CARE

CLEANING QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS

1. ROUTINE

CLEANING

Though quartz will resist permanent staining when exposed to liquids like wine, vinegar, tea, soda, etc, it’s important to wipe up spills immediately. Take care of fresh messes with mild dish washing detergent and a soft cloth.

For dried stains, your best bet is a glass or surface cleaner, a nonabrasive sponge and a little elbow grease. Keep a plastic knife handy to gently scrape off gum, food, nail polish, paint, or other messes that harden.

2. SPOT

CLEANING

Removing grease by using a degreasing product. Kitchen degreasers loosen and remove the grease from the quartz countertop surface. Follow the degreaser manufacturer’s instructions for use.

Marker stains can be removed by moistening a cloth with Goo Gone or a comparable product and rubbing it into the stain. Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove any cleanser residue.

3. DEEP CLEANING

For best results, spray a generous amount of a nonabrasive surface cleaner over your countertop and let it sit for 10 minutes. Wipe away with a non-scratch sponge.

If a chip does occur and you find the piece that chipped out, hold on to it. Most of the time it can be epoxied back into place. Do not stand, kneel down on, or sit on your countertops, as they could crack or break.

Quartz is a hard surface, but not hard enough to withstand the effects of knives. So, slice and dice to your heart’s content, but make sure it’s on a cutting board to avoid ugly scratches on your countertops.

Nitrogen-containing compounds,

Though quartz is heat resistant, the resin used in manufacturing can melt in heat above 300°F. A sudden change in temperature or prolonged exposure to heat may cause cracking. Always use a trivet or hot pad.

PULL SHAPE

People with limited manual dexterity often have trouble grasping a knob or operating a latch closure. ADA requirements state the pull or handle should be easy to open with one hand, without twisting the wrist or using any tight grasping or pinching motion. DRAWER HEIGHT

CONCEALED HINGES

Lanz standard hinges are concealed and easily adjustable for a level fit. Available in standard and soft close they open over 105 degrees.

Self-closing cabinet door hinges contain a small spring that pulls the door into contact with the cabinet box or frame. With applying a minimal amount of pressure, the door closes itself using a smooth, gliding motion. While the door closes easily and completely, it makes a slight audible sound when the door bump hits the cabinet because the self-closing hinge lacks the noise dampening piston of soft close hinges.

Soft-close cabinet door hinges work like selfclosing cabinet hinges but with the addition of a piston that absorbs the excess energy. This hydraulic piston mechanism with sound dampers gently guides the door through the arc of the swing and into contact with the cabinet minimizing the noise of the door shutting while also extending the lifespan of the doors.

Lanz white plastic breadboards are non-porous making them safe for food handling. They are designed to be washed/sanitized in the dishwasher but it’s recommended they be removed from the dishwasher, before the drying cycle, to prevent warping. Stand the board on end to dry completely before returning it to the cabinet to avoid trapping moisture. For deeper cleaning, deodorizing, and whitening, the breadboard can be scrubbed with a paste of 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of water. Cleaning the breadboard with bleach is not recommended.
