n our first newsletter we told you all about the job of machine designer with our colleague Sébastien Aubry. Designing a machine with modern 3D technologies is not an end in itself. It’s a crucial step, of course, but it cannot provide us with all the guarantees we need in terms of performance and reliability, both for the machine’s general operation and also for its parts, tiny as they are, which are put to the test when the machine is running. We are well aware of this; we are demanding and we must produce flawless machines that meet the requirements of
Endurance and consistancy clubs and shooters of every level. Our prototype test stage is without doubt a key phase in the production process. Julien Buffa is in charge of testing our prototypes on behalf of the research and development department.

L.N. : « Do you have a standard procedure? » Julien : « Of course, we have a set of test specifications, with, for example, a minimum of 1 million cycles. But we need to adapt our procedures to suit each specific case. It can be very useful to create a test. There is a clear advantage for organisations such as the scouts, holiday camps, resorts and shooting clubs to be offer their customers these types of activity. This is evidence of that. We would like to thank the volunteer instructors who were so professional in organising these activities. The instruction and safety workshops they provided at each range ensured the kids could shoot under the best possible conditions and make incredible progress. We’ll see you at the next Jamboree!

he return of the Beretta World Sporting Championship’s saw the start of a long awaited glorious British summer and a new venue for the competition. So the team from Laporte/CPC including Andrew Herrett, Trap Technician, and Robert Grainger, former CPC Sales Manager, were dispatched to the home of the Earl and Countess of Clarendon – Holywell Estate, Hampshire- to join forces with Pete Corney and Bob Clark of Travelling Clays r Us. Pete has been setting the course for the Beretta World Sporting Championships for the past 9 years, eight of those using solely Laporte traps and CPC targets. The
2013 competition was a special event with the change of venue and high expectations. Over 1250 people were due to shoot during the championship. Naturally Peter and others involved with the competition were a little nervous. However Pete’s nerves were substantially reduced as he had “....every confidence in the fully serviced Laporte traps and the staff that were provided by Laporte/CPC”. Forty Laporte traps were used, each one checked every evening by CPC technicians, and over 210 000 CPC targets used without a single breakdown. Peter added that ”I can say without reservation that it all went smoothly” and “I have nothing but praise for both
the equipment and the staff.” Andrew Herrett, Laporte/ CPC Trap Technician, stated “I was pleased that once again that the Laporte traps and CPC clays performed to the very highest standard. Shoots and competitions like these are a great opportunity to for shooters to see the undeniable quality of Laporte sporting traps. Laporte/CPC would like to congratulate Richard Bunning on winning the 2013 Beretta World Sporting Championships. We would also like to say well done and thank you to Pete Corney and his team at Travelling Clays r Us for making this year’s event, according to Andrew Herrett, “one of the best Beretta’s ever” .

We take our hats off to Mr. Auvret and his team who managed to keep the event going, despite the lightning which sent everyone running for cover at one point. There was top-level competition that weekend between
team Laporte’s shooters. The weekend ended with the promising victory by Mathieu Delmas ahead of such great champions as Charles Bardou, Christophe Auvret or Jean-Paul Mordefroid to name just three. We were delighted to offer the participants fine targets to aim at thanks to our traps and give them a challenge that matched their talent.

he Château de Chambord hosted its 32 nd Game Fair in June. The largest Hunting fair (450 stands and 74 000 visitors) once again gave us the opportunity to come and meet our customers. Helped by Alain Tournoux (Tir Groupé) and his team, we set up two clay-pigeon shooting ranges. The public range enabled thousands of visitors to train on our Parcours machines, while our VIP area provided the opportunity to test new products from major armoury companies on our traps. Over 120 000 clays were fired over the weekend.
We also set up several moving targets, on a proper hunting track, where visitors were able to try out Beretta , Browning and Merkel rifles. At the same time, we set up our Arc-Trap partner’s inflatable structure at the Archery area, where our Phœnix ® range once again was very popular with shooters. We welcomed the Club Interchasse, featuring among others David Douillet, Abdelatif Benazzi and Vincent Jay. It was a very busy weekend for our team: Julien, Jean-Claude, Antoine and Frédéric.

licio.es (http://Elicio.es), our partner and exclusive distributor for the Laporte brand in Spain, manufactures skeet traps under the same name. We would like to thank them for everything they do for Laporte in the Spanish market. The major skeet competitions also provide a wonderful shop-window to present our respective brands. Adelante Elicio! Report... The English shooter Nathal Hales and the Spanish brand Elicio.es with its range of automatic skeet traps were the major winners at the 2 nd Fitsac World Championships. The competition was held over the first weekend of July at the Clube de Caçadores do Porto in Portugal. A large
contingent of shooters from around the world took part in this fantastic championship. The future is safe! The young British shooter who won the competition completed a fantastic round despite the tough weather conditions, finishing just ahead of Thomas Bayer in second place, another young talent from the USA squad. It is clear to see that the younger generations are the future of this discipline and as this competition has shown, the competition is going to be tough as the shooters are of a very similar level to each other. In the end, Hales won by just a short head. This was a tough championship for competitors and machines alike. The baking heat over the competition
days shows that shooter’s physical fitness or youth are now massively important. The ELIMATIC range proved its effectiveness and its reliability. The four firing ranges which were equipped for the occasion shot over 22 000 skeets and encountered no technical problems, guaranteeing a free-flowing competition, to the great delight of competitors, referees and organisers alike.
