Beldia FA 10-11 Portfolio

Page 1

As I gather works for this school year, I found many similarities in my compositions. The way I gravitate to cool colors, how I paint objects, and think of concepts. As I go through each page of the portfolio, flashbacks of what I felt and experienced in creating these works came and brought me to realize how much I improved and how far I have yet to grow and develop my skills. The lessons and assignments for this class taught me to think beyond what I can see. To ask questions and become curious about why the way things are and why or how certain works are created. I discovered how understanding the elements that go within the artwork is fundamental in the process of art-making. Noticing that I had unknowingly applied past lessons to recent works makes me enthusiastic about learning more in the next coming years. Personally, I enjoyed creating this portfolio the most. I find that it is a great way to see what teachings I was able to learn and which ideas I can further develop, and this definitely motivated me to keep an organized file for all my works. This class has definitely pushed me to think and see beyond the actual and physical to create unique artworks. It taught me how to problem-solve and most importantly to never restrict myself to create art in a specific way.
