THIS IS ME I WELCOME YOU TO TAKE SOME OF YOUR TIME AND GET TO KNOW A BIT OF WHO I AM

I’m Lara Cassar Delia, graduated First Class Bachelor of Art (Hons) in Graphic Design and Interactive Media at MCAST. During my years at MCAST I have studied and researched various aspects of art and design. My most favourite areas include illustration and character design, photo manipulation and animation. I also have a strong passion for handmade graphics.

I am a very motivated, proactive person and ambitious to learn new techniques. Producing unique projects that have a deep meaning and appeal to one’s psyche are my passion. Being a creative individual, I love to experiment and try new things. I’m always eager to learn more, do more and be innovative as much as possible. But most important I’m looking to join a group of creative friends to share these expeiences with. Skills and capabilities develop and mature by time and experience . Apart from having a knowledge in various graphical software, I also enjoy doing photography and videography infront and behind the lens. “Believe and Achieve” is my motto and I am extremely confident that this will drive me towards a successful career in Graphic Design and Interactive Media.

BRANDING IDENTITY

Comic book cover page was inspired to include the main character of in the comic book. Poster was produced to give a brief leasson to the children.

ILLUSTRATION

The comic book consists of 14 pages and all of them were first hand drawn and then digitally produced using Adobe Illustrator CS5. The typography was placed using Adobe Indesign CS6.

The illustrations were hand drawn and then digitalised using Adobe Illustrator CS5. Whilst the paper toy templates were produced using Cad. The style used is inspired from simple children colouring books and manga features

such as big oval eyes.every character was given a particular characterisitc to add a fun aspect to the cards. Example the ladybird below is flying with one arm streched out like a superhero.

ILLUSTRATION

The character exists in 3 different colour schemes to signify diversity. The idea of Urban cultural motifs were such as flat caps and trainers used since it is a world wild style, also is wildly popular with youngsters of all ages.

Six different characters were produced all representing a different continent of the world. Every character has a particular characteristic respectively. Mr. Teddy on the right represents Europe, therefore, he has white fur and follows the European fashion.

Law of Figure-Ground differentiate between the focal point/ figure and the background/ ground in the artwork.

INFOGRAPHICS

Yellow, orange and blue were the main colour scheme of the project. They were kept uniform through out the animation. These colours represent joy and fun which is the idea I wanted the views to have when they see the animation. From this project Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve learnt to use Adobe Illustrator and manipulate the character using After Effects to create dynamic movements and transitions .

MOTION GRAPHICS

Int Min Int is a television program on TVM, a maltese local station. A School brief was assigned to produce the ident using any 3D software. I chose to work with Cinema 4D since I work on MAC and I find it to be the best 3D software.

All three images represent the transition between light and darkness which represent the death nature life. The concept behind it was to show that nature is also a living being just like us humans and is being destroyed by human activity. This photo was captured with the manipulation of shutter speed and aperture. The image below and the second one were shot using ambient light whilst the last one was shot indoors.
