Manifesto Ash is a mobile application that is aimed to improve smokers’ lives by helping them reduce smoking and finally quit for good. Humans strive to achieve pleasure and try to alter the world to make it pleasure themselves and their needs. Thereby we thought of creating a game that substitutes the pleasure of smoking with the use of gamification. A friendly coach will guide the user through a process with the use of different colorful games that will attribute awards and achievements to the user for accomplishing not smoke. Rewards and achievements engages the brain and stimulates excitement with the production of Dopamine, hence Ash will substitute the pleasures of smoking. Ash is aimed to be used for a short- term since a habit can be over come within the period of 23 days. Professional medical assistance will be given to the user since the app works in conjunction with local hospitals

The Logo The logo is called Ash as it represents the ashes of the cigarette as well as to represent death caused by smoking. Like the Ying Yang symbol is show the good and the bad, which is represented by the happy character and half skull.

Brand Visuals The color scheme chosen for the application is very contemporary and in fashion at the moment. Yellow, white and black is very eye catching and at the same time simple enough to go with the at design chosen for the interface. The Color scheme will be used throughout the application to create a uniform and holistic concept.

Wire Frame The wireframe is a visual map presentation of the way the application will run. The concept behind the application is to help smokers stop smoking in a fun and interactive way. The application is personalized according to the users identity and habit to give it a more personal approach. An avatar is build and will serve as a coach for the user to guide him through this journey. Mini games are included into the application to replace the times when the user usually smoke as well as to award it achievements and rewards for additional encouragement. Statistical information is included in the avatar proďŹ le so that the application relates more to a real life situation.



FUNCTION

Menu Function The main menu contains all information related to the user. For the user to check his updates, he needs to slide the menu to the side.

View Avatar The avatar appears as the user slides down the menu. To view the whole avatar the user needs zoom out of the screen using two ďŹ ngers. This will allow the user to see the updates made to the avatar and the accessories bought from the app store.



AVATAR

Avatar The avatar comes to live and starts interacting with the user by building a friendly relationship. It will serve as a coach for the user. The information inputted at this stage will serve for the statistical information, which will be generated automatically according. Rapid and frequent clear feedback results to implementation and response to actions therefore the user will learn a lesson

App Store Money saved from not smoking is taken into account and digitized into “Ashes� a digital currency used in the game. This currency allows you to purchase clothing and accessories for the avatar.

Sign Up

Log In are generate automatically by the users previously sign upped applications such as Google +, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo and email address. This will connect other social networks to the application therefore will also serve as a means for marketing purposes.

During Sign Up the user builds a new proďŹ le details such as Name, Age, Gender and Type. The information inputted will customize the avatar and keep record of the user.

Health

The profile is the collection of information about the user, for it to keep track of its progress. This will link all Health, Money, Games and Social Network. Every section contains different information and statues.

The health menu shows the progression of the user as regards to his physical gains or loses due to not smoking or smoking. The doctor assisting the user will view this statue.

This section records all the savings generated by the user from not smoking as well as the ASHes gained whilst playing the games.

The Games chosen relate to the concept of smoking. The Games’ purpose is to replace the time that is usually allotted with smoking. Four dierent games will played consecutively and ASH coins and achievements will be collected.

Social media connects the user to various platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to proudly post the achievements and gains gained from nit smoking.

Control of music played, language used and colour scheme of game’s interface can be changed accordingly to oer further customization of the application.

What is Ash? ASH coins are obtained after every mini game as well as the money saved from every cigarette not consumed. One Euro is equivalent to 50 ASH coins. With these coins one can buy accessories in the ASH store.

Jump Game The jumping game is targeted for the user to release the stress accumulated without smoking. The user will be instructed to tap the screen to put out the burning lava. Surprisingly the screen zooms out and shows the user has just put out a cigarette. If the level isn’t achieved the character is sent to hospital with blisters on his feet.

Blow Game The blowing game shows the character with a helicopter benny floating in air trying to achieve the star on top whilst avoiding the magnetic clouds. The user is instructed to blow in the microphone to make the character fly. If the star isn’t achieved the character gets a shock and dies.

Clean Teeth Game The cleaning game represents one of the most common disadvantages of smoking. The Avatar is displayed with dirty teeth and the user is instructed to swipe them clean. If the level is achieved the Avatar is seen all smiles and the stars appear. On the other hand the screen is ďŹ lled with nasty smelly fumes.

Shooting Game The shooting game is placed in a spatial scenario with represents the bogglers in the nose created due the mucus accumulated from smoking. The user is instructed to tap o the screen to shoot the bogglers. If the level is achieved the star appears. If the level is failed the screen is ďŹ lled with green goo.


Coin Count After every game ASH coins are collected according to the number of points achieved. This is shown in the coin count as the avatar drops the coins in the piggy bank.

Piggy Break A star will appear if the level is passed, 3 stars need to be collected. These will appear after the four games are played to attribute the user a random achievement after the piggy break counter appears

Achievments Dierent achievements are collected after playing the four games consecutively. Each achievement is attributed to the level of progression the user is in. Few examples included No Smelly Fingers, Clean Lungs and Clean Teeth.

Marketing Marketing Strategy includes awareness campaigns on cigarette packets. These will help the user stop as well as get to know about the application. Advertisement on social media, health departments and shops are essential for the game.

Doctors Approval Marketing is achieved hand in hand with the governmental medical departments and local hospital. The user will be allotted a certiďŹ cate by the doctor that will be assisting the progression of the client. This will serve as a physical reward to the user. Sharing of achievement and reward on social networks will provide publicity to the app
