BIO

Strengths

Hello, I’m Lara Hadley. I am a focused and driven graphic designer with over two years of experience. I have a passion for marketing, fashion, branding, and logo design. I thrive on new, fresh ideas and the problem-solving aspects of design. I am currently the Lead Graphic Designer at Sideline Chic, a local sports apparel company. My primary role is designing their t-shirt line. I am responsible for all stages of the process art which has really helped me grow as a designer. My experience at Sideline Chic along with the excellent education I received at JCCC has made me well equipped to be an effective graphic designer. My fine art skills, such as drawing, wood blocking, hand lettering, enhance my ability to design and communicate concepts. I am a strong believer that when you know your strengths you can use them to excel in your career. I put my strengths to work through my whole design process: analytical, maximizer, ideation, strategic, responsible. La Culebra The poster is composed of hand-cut paper elements which were then scanned and arranged digitally to re-create the setting of this children’s play.



Sideline Chic is a Kansas City based wholesaler of women’s sports apparel. They primarily service boutiques and retail stores throughout the Midwest. I’ve worked as their lead graphic designer for the past 2 years. Here is a just small sample of the shirts I’ve designed for Sideline Chic.


I Recently started a rebranding process for Sideline Chic that will take full effect in August 2017. I also art direct photoshoots and then use those images to create social media ads, website content, and mailers for our wholesalers and retail customers.



American Royal BBQ 2017 Kansas City is known for its BBQ. What better place to hold the biggest and yummiest BBQ competition in the world! Its new location in Kansas City, KS near the Legends shopping center required a new and exciting campaign, that reflected its craft and style.

Mixed Media/Wood Block Print/Acrylic/ Digital Graphics For this project I created stamps for wood blocks to achieve a unique BBQ print. I used butcher paper to give it an authentic feeling. I used these marks throughout the entire campaign.



PET MATCH Pet Match is a mobile app designed to help match the right pet to you and your lifestyle. We know how difficult finding the right pet can be, so we developed a series of questions to narrow down which types of pets would work the best for you. We are committed to not only suggesting the right pets, but also connecting you to local shops, breeders, kennels, vets and information along the way. We want to partner with you as you find and care for your forever friend!

CHILDREN’S INTERNATIONAL Children’s international is a non-profit organization created with the goal of spotlighting global poverty and its effects on children. This informative mailer contains an info-graphic and useful ways to help combat this issue.



MOCSA Is a non-profit organization which helps victims of sexual assault find help and safety. MOCSA stands for the Metropolitan Organization Combating Sexual Assault. I designed their Facebook profile square and a guerrilla marketing campaign focusing on bars, night clubs, and urban areas. This campaign was intended to help bring awareness about MOCSA and educate the public on the definition of consent. Within the campaign we offer hotline numbers and information for victims to get help.



DESIGN SPEAK I developed this two page spread in Design Speak’s 7th Volume after having an in-depth interview with Senior Art Director Amanda Coleman. She had helped design an array of billboards for the Kansas City Royals shortly before our interview and I wanted the theme of the layout to mirror her accomplishments.

SILVER SCREEN Meant to be a revitalization for a chain of drive-in movie theaters. This three part project began with a logo and a strong concept of the desired brand identity. Using that foundation, it was then expanded into a publication, kiosk, and website design.

Josef Albers 3D Magnetic Nesting Table This museum gift shop item is based off the work of Josef Albers. Each table consists of 3 pieces and is held together by inset neodymium magnets. MATERIALS USED: red oak, mdf sheeting, neodymium magnets, acrylic paint, wood stain, wood glue

FERRIS FIELD Envisioned as a Folk Pop Music Festival featuring bands such as The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, and Florence + The Machines. In addition to the music, this carnival themed event is intended to capture the excitement of a summer fair.
