smile at life and life will smile back at you (lara sardinha) as long as the goal is there, there is no limit to anyone’s achievement (paul arden) what the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve (clement stone) ms. sardinha has been practicing interior and furniture design for over ten years; and has been active as a consultant for several international companies. she has successfully managed interior and furniture design projects ranging in size from 1,500sf to 150,000sf with emphasis on value engineering and cost control. her experience covers a wide area that includes interior design of commercial and public spaces; graphics, products and image development for company’s branding. in addition she masters the creative use of material selection, lighting and colour that plays with perception of space with intentional objectivity. ms. sardinha utilizes the design of furniture to bring design concepts to life through scale, spacial organization and its function. her conceptual design expertise combined with multi-cultural awareness conveys added dimension to the creative processes that increases the value of the clients objectives. her professional experience also includes working in leadership position, liason with manufacters and has developed the experience to take projects from inception through to completion.
professional path 2013|2014 interior, furniture and graphic designer consultant kwest a/e corporation (usa) | interior design concepts and renders for a boutique hotel yvan serras beauté cosmetics (france) | re-designed new packaging and labels for a high-end line of cosmetics and perfumes. the end products recaptured the essence of the brand that was lost during a fire that destroyed the company’s headquarters and factory. decorplus architecture design and construction (portugal) | interior renovation of hallways and stairways for the zambeze hotel in tete, mozambique. the design transformed outdated, narrow spaces into an uplifting and pleasant circulation system which set the tone and ambience for the upcoming second phase renovations. 2008|2013 decogê interiors (portugal) and worldhotel, design and construction | reviewed design concepts and prepared cost estimates for clients in europe, africa and the middle east (dubai and qatar). these assignments included restaurants, hotels and hospitals. scope of work involved review of the design concepts, preparation of cost estimates for comparison against construction budgets. implemented value engineering and provided design modifications, 2006|2007 zaum furniture design | aug oct interior designer of high-end custom residential and office furniture. developed two workstations that were on display at the 2006/2007 london 100% design exhibition. these unique furniture concepts were published in several magazines in portugal and england. 2002|2005 clidecor, interior integrated solutions, ltd | dec mar interior designer and project manager for commercial, workplace and residential projects providing full design services from inception to completion. work consisted of design, development of technical drawings and supervision of construction. in addition, acted as the liason between the client and the design team. highlights: teka showrooms (macorlux, condeixa; ílhavo) and maisis offices (aveiro)
