Elder Abuse & Protection
If abuse or exploitation of an at-risk elder or an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) is observed, or you have a reason to believe that an at-risk elder or adult with IDD has been abused or exploited, or is at risk of being abused or exploited, then report that person to a law enforcement agency within 24 hours after the observation or discovery.
If you have been a victim of fraud or a scam, help fight fraud and protect others from being targeted by contacting AARP ElderWatch. A trained AARP volunteer can help talk you through your issue, gather information, and refer you to the appropriate agency to file a complaint.
