At the beginning of 2009, anyone would
have told you that Dwight Phillips, the
2004 Olympic and 2005 World champ at
the long jump, would retire. He’d won the
Bronze in 2007, but didn’t make the team
in 2008. Well, under the watchful eye of
Loren Seagrave, his coach, Dwight ran
10.06 for 100 meters, won the U.S.
Champs, won the Gold in the World
Champs and jumped the farthest long
jump in 15 years!
