THE FATFACED MUSE
When you write you see the dimples in the chin of the fat-faced muse and you follow along in and out of it.
1
THE WEED
We are not in some kind of Greek austerity we are ample & poisonous we are the weed.
2
BABIES
Hear the music in the signs of the times? Everything is scurrying for a renewing— one upstart after another becoming a baby.
3
THE CENTERS
Pluralistically ma-nong-a-hee-la forever.
4
MORNING EXERCISE
Breathe in, easily eases slows down the hammer blows. Out.
5
AFTER MY MIRROR
Never one to use organic makeup on my face I use no makeup except when I must pretend to be young.
6
LOVE LIFE
Conflict and worry, where I'm the Ogre until I change my ways pretending to be young in order to get away with changing my ways.
7
OBSERVATION
Today this morning I will change my ways. I will accept instead of direct with the whole of Lao Tze's Tao on my head.
8
NEO-TAO
And operate in the ruts with as much strength as the dying life will permit. This is the valley this is the love I offer you. Tricks, for eternity.
9
TRICKS
Not false ones but borrowed ones borrowed from myself. Coming out of everything I fabricate for myself. Having no brother no hired teacher.
10
MEMORY
Only remembered mother and sister friend who hum when I work baking a lightning cake or making the moon & earth out of leather & stuff creating ritual out of pauses between the words – that earthly silence of death.
11
AMUSING
They look away when I create the one that I am – so much for the memory of the muses!
12
YOU
I bit off more than I can chew with you – you are bigger than all of me.
13
SHE
You direct the coming and going of my acceptances. You direct the energy to come up and change me. You are in cahoots with aging. You are both putting me on the shelf where I used to be in the drawer.
14
SOUTHERN EXPOSURE
At last come to see the miracle of me. As boring as a pillow, as fall of stuff. But the comparison stops there.
15
THE PERFORMANCE
Everyday life is not the last minute – the 2 hours that summerizes all your life, basking in the sun.
16
LOVERS LOVE
The radiance of your being mostly kind and always accepting loving gives the feminine ending to the feminine gives a feminine ending to the masculine.
17
THE WARMTH
Makes you all the more stronger in radiant love lets me be more strong in low-lying love.
18
AN ENDING
A day of action sting of chile on the lips and the hot fall – turned into Indian summer.
