SWIMMING BY: PROLOGUE & SONG
When the world begins to sing the time that told the rain to fold the rocks become the living past the knocks in Earth begin to pass the fog that follows valleys present arroyos knock the heart to sing I will go forward into past I will bring rain from infant dreams Sandia over lap & load folding down the geode road -1-
‘ the water-locked in tunnels passing down from winters snow begun the fishes great uplift folding & faulting malachite & azurite galena molybdenite gypsum feldspar flourite evaporation of the ancient seas I see my mind-bod eye bodes time tell. Oceans turn to clouds fog lifts from the apples in the mist here at home the mind dreams schemes of being all alone and ancient too just a ruse to come down thru the time tune

O ceans roll in roll out shores And the tides come in for more Still the earth is dry and barren If the o ceans don't go there. Now the snow fall turns to ice -3-
Ice to wa ter then to air Falls and drains off through the streams On or un der earthold seams And the oceans suck away Morning noon and night and day And the clouds come back for more Raining draining down the shores. In my desert mesa view I see oceans that are through They have drained all out away Now the blue sky sings of jade. But I dream of lob sters and -4-
Sea weed washed and peb bled sand And at night I hear the dream Swim ming by not hear ing me.
