Many studies, like a study done by Office Max in 2014, show that office clutter undermines productivity and motivation. Keeping an organized workspace can help increase performance and a desk organizer is a great start by keep papers out of the way and making supplies more accessible.

Use either the box cutter or scissors to cut along the line drawn in step three. Cut all the way around the cereal box and discard the top of the box. Cut carefully and make the edges smooth. 6 LA VIE

To make the desk organizer more decorative you can cover the box with paper. Lay the box on the paper and trace an outline of the box, but only the front and sides. Cut and paste the paper onto the box.

Repeat steps 1-5 with a larger box, but cover the back and sides with paper rather than the front and sides. This is to make a bigger organizer, and is recommended, but not required.

The first step is to gather the necessary materials. You will need tape, glue, a writing utensil (pen or pencil), a cereal box, a pair or scissors or a box cutter, and either paint or decorative paper.

Connect the two boxes together by tape and glue. Use paper to decorate the meeting wall (the parts that are visible) and fill up the organizer. You can also use and old can or mason jar to organize pens and pencils.

The next step is to use the glue and tape to close the top and bottom of the cereal box. Make sure the flaps are to securely shut. This step will make the project easier when decorating the box.

Mark the measurements to prepare for cutting. The front mark should be a few inches lower then the back. Mark all around the cereal box with a ruler, about 5 in down in the back and 4 in the front.

“Your performance coincides with you workspace,” Vice President of recruiting for Adecco Jennie Dede said. “When it’s organized and precise you have the mind set and motivation to work.” Making a desk organizer can help to keep track of homework and to be more productive throughout the day.
