// 2021 Annual Report
WELCOME //
Letter from the President The 2021 new year was welcomed with uncertainty as COVID-19 cases reached record numbers last January. Notwithstanding the pandemic’s impact on our daily lives, the following month brought Winter Storm Uri, which wreaked havoc on our state and community. As the ice melted and power restored, so was the spirit of Las Colinas. While the beginning of the year was met with challenges, Las Colinas saw a tremendous rebound with many successes to celebrate. In partnership with the City of Irving, the Las Colinas Association unveiled the new Paws Colinas dog park on June 19th. To date, usage of the park has far exceeded expectations for the development. The impressive daily turnout and attendance for special events, such as the inaugural Paws Colinas 5K-9, further emphasize the community’s demand for the facility. Two additional LCA projects began in 2021, which are well underway and will be completed early in 2022. The new Urban Center wayfinding system, developed in partnership with the City of Irving, assists vehicular and pedestrian access to amenities, identifies and promotes the area’s unique districts, and encourages a sense of place. Likewise, construction for a new outdoor space overlooking Lake Remle adjacent to Customer Way has been developed on property owned by DCURD. Serving as a hub for business for nearly 50 years, Las Colinas has continued to embrace new development in 2021. Both Christus Health and State Bank of Texas started construction on their new headquarters in the Urban Center. In addition to McKesson Corp., Vio Security, and DealerSocket calling Las Colinas home, other notable corporate relocations include Curative Talent, Coury Hospitality, Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant headquarters moving to Las Colinas. Investments such as these combined with the announcements of several hotels, multiple new restaurants and retail venues indicate Las Colinas’ continued growth to a bright and robust economic future. Las Colinas experienced a remarkable community resolve during 2021, and we closed out the year with the firstever Holiday in the Plaza lakeside celebration. On the horizon, we look forward to celebrating Las Colinas’ 50th Anniversary with you in 2023. I am filled with confidence and gratitude for the future and anticipate continued prosperity for Las Colinas.

STRATEGIC PLANNING Tim Glass, Director
URBAN CENTER WAYFINDING SIGNAGE The Las Colinas Urban Center wayfinding system installation began in November 2021 and will continue into early spring 2022. The signage will provide easier navigation and improved walkability for visitors, residents and office workers throughout the Las Colinas Urban Center. The sleek new signs will consist of substantial gateway monuments, parking and directional signage as well as business directory kiosks. The signs will serve to highlight the unique features of the Urban Center with a branded identity for each district. The Urban Center districts are comprised of Campion, Convention, Founders, Mandalay Canal and Mustang.
LAS COLINAS HISTORY PROJECT The Las Colinas Archive was launched in March 2020 to preserve the history of our community through documents, photographs, maps drawings and personal stories. Content collection and archival work continued throughout 2021. Over 500 documents, photographs, maps, drawings, and personal stories are now cataloged to be maintained for future residents and members. LCA will continue to build the archive ahead of our 50th anniversary in 2023.
APT and the Command Center On June 18, 1989 the Las Colinas APT debuted. The Area Personal Transit (APT) system was envisioned to transport office workers from parking garages to their office buildings, restaurants and shops in the Mandalay Canal.
