GLOW takes place along the Mandalay Canal and accessible from E. Las Colinas Blvd. Please be mindful, the canal was built to explore on foot. Stairs are plentiful, uneven walkways are common and ADA access is extremely limited.

Bringing together the best of theater, music, art, light and entertainment, The Mandalay Canal comes to life through dramatic and bold performances, lighting, projection and special effects. Quick-service bites and libations will be available for purchase along the walk with a breathtaking fireworks display closing out each night.

The Las Colinas Association will hold a Special Meeting of Members at the LCA headquarters located at 3838 Teleport Blvd. on October 3, 2023 at 4 p.m . This meeting is called by the Association’s Board of Directors pursuant of the Association’s Bylaws.

The purpose of this meeting is for the membership to consider amending Supplementary Declarations No. 8, No. 26, No. 161 and No. 163. Voters’ guides and proxies have been e-mailed and mailed to all members. If you have not received yours, please e-mail us at liaisons@lascolinas.org.

FLUOR-LED JOINT VENTURE WINS TEXAS HIGHWAY CONTRACT

The Texas Department of Transportation awarded a $700 million contract to Lone Star Constructors, a Fluor-led joint venture, to build the I-35 northeast expansion south project in San Antonio. Lone Star Constructors will handle the design, construction and maintenance of the interstate project. Construction will begin in 2024, with completion slated for 2028.

THREE IRVING-LAS COLINAS COMPANIES MAKE FASTEST GROWING LIST

The Dallas Business Journal’s ninth annual “Middle Market 50” list honors DFW’s fastest-growing private and public companies. This year’s list includes Irving-Las Colinas based companies Quisitive, Ridgemont Commercial Construction, and SoundPro. The 50 companies will be honored, and the rankings will be revealed, on September 21st at the Hyatt Regency

Dallas.

CBRE, EDENS JOINTLY AQUIRE LAS COLINAS SHOPPING CENTER

CBRE Investment Management, on behalf of a client, formed a joint venture with MacArthur Park owner Edens to recapitalize the property. South Carolina-based Edens has owned the large Irving retail center for about a decade. The MacArthur Park retail center has more than 450,000 square feet of space and is located on MacArthur Boulevard near Highway 161.

DART CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF KEEPING DFW MOVING

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is celebrating 40 years in operation with block parties hosted at their stations throughout September. The block party series kickoff happened right here in Irving-Las Colinas at the Dallas College North Lake Campus station on Saturday, August 12th.

IRVING MARATHON RUNNING SERIES OKTOBERFEST HALF

MARATHON Oktoberfest celebrates warmth, friendliness, and good cheer which can be summed up in one word: gemütlichkeit. Sign up for the Irving Marathon Running Series’ Irving Oktoberfest Half Marathon on September 30th to enjoy the scenic routes and then cross the finish line and enjoy the Post-Race Party at Toyota Music Factory. DFW AIRPORT RUNWAY REHABILITATION PROJECT

Crews will be working through the fall of 2024 to rehabilitate DFW airport’s primary east side departure runway. During this time, airplane traffic will shift to other runways, which may cause increased noise for neighborhoods near Valley View Lane and West Walnut Hill Lane. The most significant change will be from summer 2023 through early summer 2024.

UPSCALE INDIAN RESTAURNT COMING TO GABLES WATER STREET

Sanjh, a new upscale Indian restaurant from a pair of industry veterans, will open in late 2023. The elevated restaurant pays homage to 3,500 years of Indian cuisines. Sanjh means “evenings” in Hindi, and is the inspiration behind the concept. They will open in Water Street at 5228 N. O’Connor Blvd. #146.

TWICE-WEEKLY TRASH PICK-UP RETURNS DECEMBER 4TH

The City of Irving developed a plan to return to twice weekly manual trash collection while keeping three-member teams on each truck to accommodate heavy lifting. Twice-per-week trash collection will begin Monday, December 4th with recycling, brush and bulky materials collected weekly. In the coming months, the City of Irving will finalize ordinance amendments to accommodate the twice-per-week model.
