God urged the pastor of a small Indian fishing village to rise early and moved him to lead the entire village up the mountain to worship, earlier than usual. About 1,000 villagers followed the pastor. When the tsunami hit the island just past 8 o’clock, the whole village was safely on the mountain.

2. Abandoned boat saved orphans from an orphanage on the southeastern coast of Sri Lanka. When the tsunami hit, 30+ people crammed into a small abandoned boat that could only hold 15 people. The boat, which initially would not start, jumped to life in the nick of time and saved all the orphans from the orphanage. 3. God commanded the waves to recede Penang, Malaysia: Church members were dining at a seaside restaurant. Before the tsunami struck, the pastor noticed the abnormality and shouted for everyone to flee. As they reached the door, the first of the big waves came. A voice came from above: “Command the waves recede immediately, in the name of the Lord Jesus." The pastor declared: "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command the waves to recede now!" When the pastor said the word, “recede," the muddy waters split in two and fell to the sides, as in the case of Moses and the Red Sea.
