The immersive art experiences at Lighthouse ArtSpace at The Shops at Crystals continue with the arrival of Disney Animation: Immersive Experience. With a brand-new retail concept and a booming interior design business, Las Vegas local Melody Gangi shares a look at her current design wish list.

What began as an Instagram account and blog, where she shared the process of designing her own home for her family of four, grew into a full-fledged business for entrepreneur Melody Gangi. In 2020, Gangi launched Las Vegas-based House of Four Design (houseo ourdesign.com), where she currently helms the firm as its founder and principal designer. “I was a new mom who loved designing and sharing my own home, and eventually it grew to an in-demand business. I still pinch myself!” she recalls. When she’s not designing beautiful homes throughout Las Vegas, with her deft team in tow, she’s working on House of Four’s new retail concept: House Supply & Co. Long, convivial tables in a limestone-washed room are fi lled with plates and more plates of mezedes and glasses of retsina. A pile of ice shows o the day’s catch, ready to be thrown onto a grill. All hewn stone, light woods, and delicate reed ceilings, the place is carelessly elegant and packed with diners. The scene is a typical Tuesday night—for a coastal Greek taverna 7,000 miles away from Las Vegas. And since Bua Food Group opened Naxos Taverna and Kallisto Oyster Bar at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa, it is now a typical night here. While this was always intended to be a Greek restaurant with Mediterranean infl uences, everything—including the menu plan—changed when Managing Partner and Director of Culinary Operations Mark Andelbradt

for in a modern taverna. You’ll fi nd traditional meze like the red pepper and walnut muhammara spiked with pomegranate molasses, zingy tzatziki, and crushed fava bean, all served with pita that comes hot and pu y o an apricot wood charcoal grill. Five fi sh purveyors in Europe send lavraki (a Mediterranean sea bass) and the terrifying-looking but fi rm and sweet skorpina (scorpion fi sh), as well as dorade, John Dory, whole langoustines and more, cooked whole and served with charred lemon, or baked in a salt crust. The lamb shank, cut osso buco-style, braised all day and fi nished with chickpeas and olives is a sleeper hit. “It’s grandma’s kind of cooking and the best dish on the menu to most people.” And though Naxos goes for purity of experience, that doesn’t mean you won’t fi nd a few twists. A Basque-style cheesecake gets married to baklava here, and astonishing froyo swirls farmers cheese and olive oil with pistachio; both decidedly untraditional. But in the same way cuisine from the Cyclades somehow feels perfectly at home in the desert, these nuanced shakeups feel perfectly at home in Naxos Taverna.

They rented ATVs and took back roads to fi nd wine and olive oil producers. “I saw how things grow there— the bergamot and wild fennel—and it focused us. It’s indigenous food from the source there, home cooking, and it’s one hundred percent meant to be a shareable feast.” Andelbradt’s own philosophy dovetails with how he experienced dining in Naxos.
