Schools & Education Simply put, dyslexia is a condition that makes it hard for some children and adults to read. Not so simply put, it has to do with coding, or problems identifying speech soundslori@lvkidsdirectory.com and learning how they relate to letters and words.

We get a lot of questions about dyslexia, and the first thing we tell parents is that it has nothing to do with intelligence. Kids do not outgrow it – there is no magic cure – but, with proper intervention and individualized educational therapy, children can learn to manage dyslexia and thrive in their education.

Signs of dyslexia include difficulty reading, learning new written words slowly, and an inability to sound out the pronunciation of an unfamiliar word. While vision can often be a factor, if your child struggles with spelling or avoids activities that involve reading, it might be time to discuss your child’s reading with their teacher or pediatrician.
