Justin Bruce City of Jackson 203 S. President St. Jackson, MS 39201 Dear Mr. Bruce: I am inquiring about the magazine layout project that you have available. Based on the criteria, I would be an excellent fit for your agency. I reviewed the list of goals you have for the City of Jackson’s new magazine, and I am certain that I can assist your department in achieving those goals. Thanks to the training I received at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where I earned an AS in graphic design, and the three years of experience I have in editing and production design, I know how to create and modify page layouts, create and insert images and graphics, perform preflight checks and prepare files for print. I also have seven years of proofreading and editing experience, and I have five years of customer service experience. Please review the enclosed resume and portfolio to see my educational background, work history and skills. I am certain that you will consider me for the position after reviewing the enclosures. Please contact me at the phone numbers or email address above, and I will follow up with you in two weeks to verify that you have received my information. I look forward to your response. Sincerely,
Latasha Willis Enclosure: Resume, Portfolio

Raises head and chest when lying on stomach Grasps objects Smiles at other people
After the first few months, babies are able to plan their actions such as grabbing a pacifier. He’ll lose many of his newborn reflexes while acquiring more voluntary control of his body. You’ll find him spending hours inspecting his hands and watching their movements.
Sits without support Is able to crawl Gets to sitting position without assistance
Rolls from back to stomach and stomach to back Moves objects from hand to hand
Walks with or without support Says at least one word Enjoys imitating people
18 months: Walks independently, drinks from a cup, says at least 15 words 2 years: Runs, speaks in two-word sentences, follows simple instructions, begins make-believe play
Objective: Design an illustration of a child’s growth from infancy to a toddler (collaborative project with classmate Sonja Ascino).
Your baby will quickly learn to hug Mom, Dad, and other people he's comfortable around. This is the period when he’ll learn to coordinate his emerging perceptive abilities (the use of senses like vision, touch, and hearing) and his increasing motor abilities to develop skills like grasping, rolling over, sitting up, and possibly even crawling.
By this time of your baby’s growth, he’ll develop new skills such as crawling and standing. This is a great time of his life where he gets a sense of movement and is able to reach things he thought he never could.
105 boys are born for every 100 girls - worldwide. A baby is born every 8 seconds in the U.S.
Your baby will become increasingly mobile, a development that will thrill and challenge both of you. Being able to move from place to place will give your child a delicious sense of power and control—his first real taste of physical independence.
18 months: At this age, a child has developed great motor skills such as being able to stack blocks and scribble with crayons. He will be able to run stiffly, with eyes on the ground. 2 years: At age 2 a child is able to identify facial parts and can conversate with a grown-up with a partial babble. At this age, a child likes to take things apart and explore surroundings.

tionism – if you don’t do your half hour of yoga each morning, the day’s a wipeout. And we don’t need any more of that nonsense. What we need are simple ways of dealing with stress that don’t take much more effort than reading this book. And that’s what you’ve got. When you understand how stress impacts on your body, it’s easy to take measures that disperse that stress pronto. You become better at nipping the stressors in the bud – just as you nip the chances of getting dysentery in the bud by choosing not to drink dirty, smelly water. You’ll find ways of dealing with extreme stress here – the sort of stress that poleaxes your life. If stress has been creeping up on you gradually there are ways of defusing months’ worth of stress in a few hours. But at the end of the day, stress is an active, not a passive pursuit. Studies have shown that most of us, just like Rosalind, know how to relax but we can’t be bothered to do it. So don’t just read but act. Most of these ideas sound embarrassingly simple but they work on a profound level – if you do them. The only way that you can possibly become a more relaxed and less person is to do more that relaxes you and less that stresses you. Self-evident you might think, but not to all of us. Stress will find you. You can’t avoid it. Stress is a fact of life. We can make some of it go away, we can ignore some of it, but eventually we will have to deal with it. Here are some ways of dealing with it fast. And strictly no lotus position.

Let’s face it, if you’re the sort of person who enjoys doing an hour of yoga every morning and then soaking for an hour in a candle-lit bath every night, you probably don’t need any advice on destressing. This book is for the people who struggle to find time for a shower, much less a bath. The ones who he Chinese have an old saying, so are still clicking their I’m told: ‘Stress and madness are mouse or ironing a twin sisters – they always go hand shirt at 11.30 p.m. in hand.’ For the last couple of decades The ones (and there we’ve accepted escalating stress levels as are thousands of the price we pay for ‘having it all’, but them) who don’t now we’re waking up to the second half take their full annual of the equation – the madness bit. holiday leave and ‘Having it all’ translates, as we know, into worry that stress is ‘doing it all’. It’s yet another thing to add to the to-do list. This book was written with my friend, Rosalind, in mind. She once said to me ‘Wouldn’t it be marvellous if brushing our teeth was as good as meditation?’ This was after she had given up her brand-new hobby of listening to a relaxation tape, morning and evening, after just four days.
