hester HEAD COACH @coachthester Louisiana Tech President Dr. Les Guice and Vice President/Director of Athletics Dr. Eric A. Wood introduced Talvin Hester as the 19th head men’s basketball coach in program history in a press conference Tuesday in the Davison Athletics Complex. Hester, who has 20 years of coaching experience, is no stranger to Ruston after spending three seasons (2018-21) as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs. Most recently, he spent one season as an assistant coach at Texas Tech where he helped the third-seeded Red Raiders reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. “We are fired up that Coach Hester is coming back to Ruston to lead our Dunkin’ Dogs!,” said Wood. “He has been preparing for this opportunity over the last 20 years, learning the X’s and O’s from some of the best in the game. He also builds authentic relationships that will continue the great culture in the program and push our guys to play at their best and win championships!” While in Lubbock this past season working under new head coach and Associated Press Big 12 Coach of the Year Mark Adams, Texas Tech put together a 27-win season including victories over Montana State and Notre Dame to help the program make its fifth Sweet 16 appearance in program history. TTU, which had five All-Big 12 selections, was ranked as high as No. 9 in the country and reached the Big 12 championship final for just the second time in program history. The Red Raiders had the No. 1 ranked defense in the country (per Kenpom.com) while limiting opponents to only 60.2 points per game, holding teams to 38.2 percent shooting and forcing 15.9 turnovers per contest. “We are ecstatic to welcome back Coach Hester to the Tech Family,” said Guice. “He has a great vision and the ability to motivate students to their highest levels of performance. He made a positive impact during his tenure as Coach Konkol’s assistant by creating authentic relationships with our studentathletes and setting a strong example of our Tenets in action.” During his three successful years at LA Tech under Eric Konkol, Hester helped the Bulldogs register three winning seasons of 20-plus victories. The 2020-21 season saw the ‘Dogs register a 24-8 overall record while claiming a Conference USA West Division title and a third place finish in the National Invitation Tournament. The team received an atlarge berth to play in the NIT for the first time since 2015 and became just the second team in program history to make the Final Four. LA Tech, which had the highest-rated defense in C-USA ranking top 30 in the country in field goal percentage defense and three-point field goal percentage defense, upset Ole Miss in the first round, defeated league foe Western Kentucky in the quarterfinals and won a 76-74 thriller over No. 1 overall seed Colorado State in the Final Four consolation game. “I am so excited about this new journey and the opportunity given to me by Dr. Guice and Dr. Wood to lead the men’s basketball program here at Louisiana Tech University,” said Hester. “I would like to give a special thank you to Mark Adams for believing in me to help him build his program in his first season as head coach at Texas Tech. In saying that, I am ready to get to work and build a team that will make this community proud. Dreams do come true and I am living proof.”
8
In his second season in 2019-20, the Bulldogs registered a 22-8 overall record during the regular slate, but the team did not have a chance at postseason play with the Conference USA and NCAA/NIT Tournaments being canceled due to the public health threat of COVID-19. The 22 wins ended up being the most victories of any Conference USA team and of any Louisiana Division I team. The Bulldogs also recorded a 13-5 league record, finishing in a tie for second place. In his first year with the ‘Dogs, Hester helped the team to 20 victories. Eight of the 20 victories came against teams who also produced 20-win seasons, the most in program history. One of those came in the season opener at Wichita State as the Bulldogs shocked the Shockers, handing them only their fourth loss in their last 76 games at home. Hester helped coach All-Conference USA selections DaQuan Bracey (First Team), Kenneth Lofton, Jr. (Third Team and C-USA Freshman of the Year) and Isaiah Crawford (Third Team) as well as Cobe Williams who was a member of the C-USA All-Defensive Team. Along with stops at Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech, Hester spent the majority of his coaching career in the south, especially in the Lone Star State. He spent time at Oral Roberts, Houston, Texas State, Stephen F. Austin, San Jose State, Prairie View A&M, Texas College, Texas Wesleyan and North Lake College during his career. Prior to his time at LA Tech, Hester coached at Oral Roberts (2017-18) with head coach Paul Mills where Hester was instrumental in the recruitment of Kevin Obanor who would help lead the team to the 2021 Sweet 16. Hester also worked for Kelvin Sampson at Houston from 2014-17, helping turnaround the Cougars program which reached the 2020 Final Four. In his first season at UH, the Cougars recorded a nine-win improvement from the previous season, earning 22 victories for the first time in eight years. The Cougars finished second in the American Athletic Conference and earned an NIT appearance, which was their first postseason action since 2013. In his second season as an UH assistant, the program boasted a 21-win season in 2016-17, a third-place finish in the AAC and another trip to the NIT. While at Houston, Hester

coached four All-AAC selections including Rob Gray and Damyean Dotson who became the first duo in the program’s history to be selected first team in the same season since 1990. Hester spent one season as an assistant coach at Texas State (2013-14) and Stephen F. Austin (2012-13). While with the Lumberjacks, the team posted a 27-5 overall record and claimed the Southland Conference regular season title. His first coaching experience outside the Lone Star State came at San Jose State from 2010-12. In his first year with the Spartans, they earned the program’s first postseason bid since 1996 (CBI) and a 17-16, the most wins since the 198081 season. He spent five seasons at Prairie View A&M (2005-10) where he was promoted to associate head coach. He helped the Panthers to winning records in both the 2008-09 and 200910 season, the first time the program registered back-to-back winning seasons in decades. Hester began his coaching career in 2002 at North Lake College in Irving, Texas before he spent one year at his alma mater Texas Wesleyan and one at Texas College. His coaching resume also includes a stop with the Texas Rim Rockers of the United States Basketball League as an assistant coaching intern and the Dallas Mustangs AAU team for one season. He was an assistant coach at Texas College in Tyler, Texas for the 2004-05 season before going to Prairie View A&M. As a student-athlete, Hester played at Dallas Christian College during the 1996-97 season. He received his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Wesleyan in 2003. Hester is married to the former Jamieka Jackson and they are the parents of a daughter, Rhyan.

assistant COACHES Winston Hines begins his first season with the Bulldog Basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Hines brings 13 years of collegiate coaching experience to Ruston, having recently spent five seasons as an assistant coach at nearby Grambling State. “Winston Hines is unique for this job in that he has been in the state of Louisiana for a lot of years,” said head coach Talvin Hester. “He is ASSISTANT COACH from Florida so that helps keep the connection to that state that LA Tech has had for a while. We want to continue to recruit great in our region @hinesLaTechBall and in places we have always been great like Florida. He will be a great addition to our Bulldog Family.” While with the Tigers, Hines helped the program to four top-four finishes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference including their first SWAC regular season title in 30 years. Hines helped in the development of Ivy Smith who was selected as a BOXTOROW HBCU All-American. Smith was also a two-time All-SWAC honoree and an NABC First Team All-District selection. Prior to coaching in Grambling, Hines spent one season as the associate head coach at Stillman College during the 2016-17 season. In his lone season with the Lady Tigers, the team compiled a 19-4 record after totaling just 24 wins in the previous three seasons combined. This opportunity came after spending eight seasons with the men’s program at Stillman College as an assistant coach where he helped the Tigers receive their first ever Top 25 ranking in the NCAA Division II polls.

thomas assembly center
The Thomas Assembly Center recently experienced its 40th season of basketball as it has been home to the Louisiana Tech Bulldog and Lady Techster basketball teams since it opened in November of 1982. It has also served as the home arena for the Lady Techster volleyball program since the program’s inception in 1987. The 8,000-seat Thomas Assembly Center received a new state-of-the-art Maplewood floor in the summer of 2007 thanks to the generous donation of Bulldog legend Karl Malone. Aptly named Karl Malone Court, the hardwood is made of the same material that all NBA practice facilities boast. In the summer of 2021, the court was given a new design (the fifth one in the TAC’s history and the first since 2013). Some of the details of the one-tone, light-colored floor include Bulldogs and Lady Techsters wording along the baselines, as well as implementation of website and social media handles on the sideline. In a continuing effort to improve the game-day atmosphere, a high definition video display board -- known as Paul Millsap Vision presented by Origin Bank -- was installed by Daktronics in the fall of 2013. The $1.2 million project also included four LED center hung video displays (7.3 by 11.4), two LED ribbon board displays (2 x 45.8 and 2 x 61.4), four new corner courtside displays (2 video displays, 2 standard scoreboard displays with messaging centers), a customized sound system and a video board control room which is utilized for both basketball and football. Prior to the 2020-21 season, LED lighting was installed inside and outside the arena as well as several renovation updates to locker rooms and coach’s offices. For 40 years, the Thomas Assembly Center has continually proven to be one of the toughest arenas in the country for opposing collegiate basketball teams to play in on both the men’s and women’s sides. The nationally-renowned Lady Techster basketball program has dominated their opposition for three-plus decades in the TAC, winning an amazing 84 percent of their games while posting a mark of 504-96 (500th win came on Feb. 5, 2022 versus FIU). The win-loss record is ranked in the top five in all of Division I women’s basketball. It has been home to 25 NCAA Tournament teams, the 1988 National Champion, 16 Kodak All-Americans and the winningest coach in the history of the game in Hall of Famer Leon Barmore. During the course of the program’s history in the TAC, the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters have put together some incredible winning streaks including: - winning 161 straight games vs. unranked opponents (starting with a 79-66 win over Western Kentucky in 1991-92 and ending with a 71-65 overtime loss to Illinois in 2004-05) - winning 114 straight regular season conference games (starting with a 79-66 win over Western Kentucky in 1991-92 and ending with a 68-47 loss to Boise State in 2006-07) The Lady Techsters have also boasted some of the top attendance numbers in the nation during their times, including 15 crowds of more than 7,000 and eight crowds of more than 8,000. On numerous occasions the Lady Techsters have ranked among the nation’s Top 40 in home attendance, including a program record 5,330 in 1982-83.

Both the Lady Techsters and Bulldogs played before a Thomas Assembly Center record 8,975 fans in a double header sweep of I-20 rival ULM (formerly Northeast Louisiana) on Jan. 22, 1985. The Lady Techsters have posted 13 perfect seasons in the Thomas Assembly Center, and won a program record 19 home games in 1988-89. Tech is 36-0 all-time at the TAC in NCAA Tournament games. The Lady Techsters aren’t the only program to have dominated in the Assembly Center as the Bulldog basketball team has had its share of winning tradition at home. Since 1982, numerous Bulldog basketball teams have seen success on the hardwood from Andy Russo’s early-1980s Dunkin’ Dogs featuring NBA Hall of Famer Karl Malone all the way through the new millennium under Michael White, Eric Konkol and now new head coach Talvin Hester. Tech has posted a remarkable 425-107 mark (500th game came on March 7, 2020 versus Charlotte) in the Thomas Assembly Center for an impressive winning percentage of 80 after posting a 13-3 mark this past season. LA Tech has now recorded 11+ home wins in each of the last 11 seasons, one of only 15 teams in the country to do so. NBA greats such as Malone, P.J. Brown, Randy White and Paul Millsap have all called the Thomas Assembly Center home during their collegiate careers. The Mailman led Louisiana Tech to a Top 10 national ranking in 1984-85 when the Bulldogs posted a 29-3 mark, including a perfect 14-0 at the Thomas Assembly Center, and a spot in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. After losing their first ever home game at the Assembly Center, Tech reeled off a program-record 40 straight wins covering three seasons as Malone and Co. dominated the Southland Conference on its way to three straight league titles. Malone, White and Brown all took their turn leading the Bulldogs to eight straight 20-plus win seasons (1983-1992) and national postseason appearances including five NCAA Tournaments and three NIT appearances. A decade later Bulldog fans were privileged enough to watch Paul Millsap win three straight NCAA rebounding titles, the first player in Division I history to accomplish this feat. And in the past nine+ seasons behind the play of Speedy Smith, Raheem Appleby, Alex Hamilton, Erik McCree, DaQuan Bracey, Kenneth Lofton, Jr. and more, the arena has been one of the toughest place in the country for opponents to win. Since February of 2012, the ‘Dogs are 149-15 in the TAC which is the sixth highest winning percentage (90.9) of any team in the country during that span. The Bulldogs have also won 90 of the last 94 non-conference home games dating back to the start of the 2008-09 season and have now swept all non-conference home games in 11 of the last 14 seasons. Since joining Conference USA in 2013-14, the Bulldogs are 67-11 versus league foes and are also a perfect 5-0 in national postseason games at the Thomas Assembly Center after defeating Central Michigan, 89-79, in the first round of the NIT in 2015.

stoehr HEAD COACH @brookestoehr Brooke Stoehr knows the storied tradition of Lady Techster basketball. She was a big part of that history as a player under legendary Hall of Fame head coach Leon Barmore during her four years in Ruston. This fact combined with her already established track record of winning on the hardwood as a head coach led Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland to name Stoehr the seventh head coach in Lady Techster basketball history in April of 2016. Stoehr came back to her alma mater after four tremendously successful years at Northwestern State, where she guided the Lady Demons to three postseason tournaments, including a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. “I have a deep passion for this program and have a personal investment in it from my time here as a student athlete,” said Stoehr. “I take great pride and responsibility in leading this group of young women and helping move the Lady Techster program forward.” Stoehr surpassed the 150-win milestone with a road win at UAB during the 2020-21 season and surpassed 100 wins at Tech in a C-USA tournament semifinal win over UAB this past March. Stoehr now sits third all-time in program wins behind Leon Barmore and Sonja Hogg and enters the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 172-137, including a 101-79 mark in Ruston. “Brooke was the last point guard I ever coached at Louisiana Tech,” Barmore said. “When things were tough and the game was on the line, I wanted Brooke to have the ball. To be honest with you, I’m glad she has the ball now. I love her, and I’m glad she is in charge of this program.” During the 2021-22 season, Stoehr led the Techsters to a 21-12 record on their way to winning the Conference USA West Division crown and earning an automatic birth in the WNIT. The Techsters also reached the C-USA finals for the first time since joining the conference after beating UAB and completing an 11-point fourth quarter comeback over Middle Tennessee in the tournament semifinals. Stoehr led the Lady Techsters to a 14-10 record in 202021, including an overtime win on the road at Marshall to open up Conference USA play, as well as a first round win over the Thundering Herd in the Conference USA tournament. She has also seen some impressive wins the past few years, including wins over P5 programs in Alabama and Ole Miss. Other impressive wins include a road win over a 14-1 UAB in 2018-19 as well as a victory over the Blazers in the first round of the 2020 C-USA Tournament (first time a 12 seed had defeated a 5 seed in the event). Stoehr recorded back-to-back winning seasons during her first two years at the helm. After being picked to finish 12th in the 14-team Conference USA in the preseason coaches’ poll prior to 2016-17, Stoehr led the Lady Techsters to 18 wins, a fourth-place finish in the regular season standings and the program’s first national postseason berth since 2011 during her first year. LA Tech won seven straight C-USA regular season games down the stretch, advanced to the semifinals of the league tournament before falling to tournament champion WKU and then took SMU to overtime in Dallas in the first round of the WNIT.
26
She followed that up with a 19-12 record in 2017-18, a third place finish in the C-USA regular season and a second straight berth in the WNIT. It marked the most wins and the highest league finish since 2011-12. The Techsters posted a win over Big Ten foe Penn State, its first over a P5 program since 2011-12. LA Tech also recorded a road win over eventual C-USA regular season champion UAB, and snapped the Rice Owl’s program-record 15-game winning streak. During her six seasons at Tech, Stoehr has recruited and developed All-Conference players such as 2022 FirstTeam and 2021 Second-Team guard Keiunna Walker and 2022 Second-Team forward Anna Larr Roberson. Walker became the 43rd member of the Lady Techsters 1,000 point club and surpassed other career milestones in assists (100), steals (100), and charges taken (100) and registered the fourth triple-double in program history against Rice with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Roberson’s development over her three seasons under Stoehr has developed her into an allconference selection after ranking second in C-USA in doubledoubles, surpassing 500 career rebounds, and registering the fifth-highest scoring game in Techsters’ history with 44 points against Rice. Walker and Roberson were also named to the 2022 Conference USA All-Tournament Team. Off the court, the Lady Techsters have been very involved in the local community, volunteering countless hours of community service with a number of organizations, including DART, Buddy Ball, The Big Event, Special Olympics and visiting several local elementary schools. The Lady Techsters continued to make strides in the classroom as well. Over the past six years 41 players were named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, including a a record-high eight Lady Techsters during the 2021-22 season. Taylor Stahly became the first Techsters since joining the league in 2013 to earn a spot on the women’s basketball All-Academic Team, recording the honor in back-to-back seasons. Stahly, Ashley Santos, Lotte Sant, Amaya Brannon, Robyn Lee, Silvia Nativi, Autumn Smith, and Mackenzie Wurm have all earned the C-USA Commissioners Academic Medal. The Techsters have also achieved a perfect single-season APR score in tow of their last three seasons.
2022-23 louisiana tech basketBALL yearBOOK
Stahly, who finished her academic career with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, was also named a Google Cloud Academic All-American in 2018-19, just the 16th such recipient of the highest academic honor in Louisiana Tech Athletics history. “Brooke needs no introduction to Louisiana Tech University,” said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey. “She is Lady Techster basketball! Her history with the program speaks volumes. She was loved as a Lady Techster player, and she will be loved as the head coach.” Prior to Louisiana Tech, Stoehr inherited a Northwestern State women’s basketball program that had won a total of six games the previous season. In four seasons, NSU compiled a record of 71-58 as the Lady Demons won back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament championships in 2014 and 2015. Those victories produced the first consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in program history. In her last season in Natchitoches, Northwestern State earned an appearance in the Women’s Basketball Invitational, extending its run of national postseason appearances to three. On the court, Stoehr developed three-year starting point guard Janelle Perez from a player who had no other Division I scholarship offers into a 1,000-point career scorer, the 201213 Southland Conference Freshman of the Year and a 2014-15 first-team All-Southland Conference selection. During Stoehr’s tenure in Natchitoches, she has also guided Keisha Lee on a path that led the shooting guard to become the 25th player in program history to score 1,000 points and Trudy Armstead in becoming just the seventh player in school history to record at least 1,000 career points and grab at least 700 career rebounds. Armstead also earned 2014 Southland Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player honors before signing to play in Romania. The maturation of shooting guard Beatrice Attura into the Southland Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player only served to underscore further Stoehr’s ability to develop quality guard play, something that marked her playing career at Louisiana Tech.
Off the court, Stoehr demands just as much or more from her players and the numbers prove it. In the classroom, Northwestern State finished with the nation’s 16th-best cumulative GPA (3.461) in the 2014-15 season and had the fifth-highest among NCAA Tournament teams that season. The team GPA for the Fall 2015 semester was 3.48, trending NSU toward another high ranking nationally when the 201516 review is released this summer by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Each player who completed her athletic eligibility during the Stoehrs’ tenure earned a degree from Northwestern State. In addition to her time at Northwestern State, Stoehr spent time as an assistant coach at Texas Tech (2009-12), Southern Mississippi (2008-09), LA Tech (2005-08) and UALR (2003-05). Stoehr played for the Lady Techsters from 1998 through 2002 and helped guide the program to four NCAA Tournament appearances, two Elite Eights and one Final Four. She ended her LA Tech career as the NCAA’s all-time leader in free throw percentage. Brooke and husband Scott have a 11-year-old daughter, Aubrey, and a 9-year-old son, Cooper.

Dr. les
guice university president @LKGuice Dr. Les Guice and Louisiana Tech University share a rich history together that spans five decades. From an architecture student stepping on the campus for the first time in 1972 to his appointment as Louisiana Tech’s 14th President in 2013, Guice has shown an unwavering commitment to leadership and service to his alma mater. One of Guice’s first achievements at Tech was earning a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1976. While he was an undergraduate, Guice found a passion for Engineering and went on to earn a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tech in 1978. He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University in 1986 and decided to pursue teaching as his career. Guice’s dedication to his students and the University would lead to his appointment as Dean of the College of Engineering and Science (COES) in 1999. As Dean, Guice supported innovations in the college, including a transformative redesign of the first-year curriculum for engineering and science students. With a focus on the future and a progressive vision for economic development, Guice led the planning and development of
the Louisiana Tech Enterprise Campus – a research park connecting the University and downtown Ruston. The Enterprise Campus’ first building, Tech Pointe, was completed in 2012 and is now home for several companies and organizations. Construction on Tech Pointe II began this spring. As president of Tech, Guice is the chief executive officer of north Louisiana’s only Carnegie Foundation national research university. The University is also one of only two public universities from Louisiana recognized in the top tier of national universities by U.S. News and World Report. Throughout his career, Guice has contributed to and played a central role in creating the culture and vision for the future of Tech. His focus on campuswide engagement, building and growing relationships, and leadership in forging a path toward advancement of the University’s academic and athletic programs, research and commercialization activities, and economic development efforts means that Louisiana Tech University’s best days are yet to come. Guice and his wife Kathy have three children and four grandchildren.

Dr. ERIC A.
WOOD DIRECTOR of ATHLETICS/VICE PRESIDENT @EWOOD_AD Culture. Class. Competitive Excellence. Those are the pillars that Dr. Eric A. Wood has embraced and vocalized since stepping foot on the Louisiana Tech University campus. Wood was formally introduced as Vice President and Director of Athletics by University President Dr. Les Guice during a press conference held in the Chris Richardson Suite of the Joe Aillet Stadium Press Box on Oct. 23, 2020. The 23-year veteran of collegiate athletics came to Ruston following a five-year stint at UCF, becoming the first Director of Athletics in LA Tech history to also serve as a Vice President while also becoming the first AfricanAmerican Vice President and the first minority Director of Athletics in the University’s history. Wood’s energy, enthusiasm and electric personality have hit home with the LA Tech student-athletes, coaches, support staff and fan base during his two years as AD. And since coming on board during one of the most trying times in collegiate athletics history, his leadership has helped LA Tech gain momentum – both on and off the playing surfaces. Athletically, that momentum can be seen in the number of championships won. • Baseball – 2021 C-USA West Division champions and 2022 C-USA Tournament champions • Softball – 2022 C-USA Regular Season champions • Women’s Basketball – 2022 C-USA West Division champions • Men’s Basketball – 2021 C-USA West Division champions LA Tech is the only Division I school in the country to have won a conference regular season title in baseball, softball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball within the last two years. The Bulldog and Lady Techster Basketball teams also made it to the Conference USA Championship game in 2022, marking just the eighth time in C-USA history a school has had both programs advance to the finals. Other team highlights during Wood’s tenure include the seventh straight bowl appearance by Bulldog Football, back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances by the Bowling program, Bulldog Basketball’s run to the 2021 NIT Final Four, individual NCAA postseason qualifiers in Track and Field and Golf, and back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances by Bulldog Baseball (including the first ever host of an NCAA Regional in 2021). LA Tech also had plenty of champions in the classroom with numerous academic records broken. • 230 student-athletes named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll (2021-22) • 75 student-athletes receiving the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal (2021-22)
36
• 11 programs tallying a multi-year APR rate of at least 970 (2020-21) • 8 programs recording a perfect 1,000 single-year APR score (2020-21) Other impressive academic accomplishments over the last two years have included 24 conference All-Academic Team honorees, 12 CoSIDA Academic AllDistrict selections (record-high nine in 2020-21) and five CoSIDA Academic All-American selections (record-high three in 2020-21). On the fundraising front this past year, the University totaled $5.6M in dollars received to athletics, the highest since FY17, with the exception of disaster relief efforts. The Louisiana Tech Athletics Club (LTAC) exceeded $1.53 million in commitments in FY22, marking the first time surpassing $1.5 million since the 201819 academic year. In addition, the average LTAC gift increased by 20 percent from FY21 to FY22. And for a second straight year, giving among full-time athletic department employees reached 100 percent. Tech has also seen several seven-figure commitment made by individual donors on capital projects that support the Bulldog and Lady Techster student-athletes. The University opened brand new facilities in J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, Dr. Billy Bundrick Softball Field, Robert Mack Caruthers Soccer Field, Origin Bank Soccer and Softball Complex, and additional support facilities that totaled in excess of $40 million in new athletics facility construction. The University has also begun raising funds for the construction of the Sarah and A.L. Williams Champions Plaza as well as the new Student-Athlete Success Center and pair of new Daktronics video scoreboards as part of the $15 million Joe Aillet Stadium north end zone project. All of these momentum-building moments have led to exponential growth in the brand as well through social media and the official athletics website LATechSports. com. In 2021-22, there was a 17.9 percent increase in followers across all social media platforms with half of the accounts generating at least a 20 percent growth in followers. The newly redesigned website saw its most web traffic ever with record highs in page views (3.06 million), sessions (1.34 million) and users (780,000+). All of these accomplishments are signs of the three pillars – Culture, Class and Competitive Excellence. The Bronx, New York, native has also served in a variety of roles outside of LA Tech, having been appointed to the Division I NCAA Football Oversight Committee and to the Division I Council as well as being named Chair of the Football Success Committee. Prior to making Ruston his new home, Wood spent more than two decades serving within athletics administration. In addition to his time at UCF, he has held full-time positions at the University of Arkansas, the Atlantic Coast Conference, Wake Forest University and the University of New Haven. He also served as a postgraduate intern at the NCAA national office and a graduate assistant at Clemson University early in his career. At every level of his professional career, Wood has made an impact. His qualifications and accomplishments
