Louisiana Tech is 2-0 this season and coming off a thrilling 4-1 win over Southeastern on Wednesday night at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. >> Starting pitcher Allie Floyd and the Bulldogs (2-0) overwhelmed the Lions (5-1), who came into the contest having outscored opponents 31-0 on the season. The sophomore registered her fourth career complete game, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out a career-high eight batters during the win to improve to 1-0 on the season. >> Freshman Karli Sellers paced the offense in the win by going 2-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. >> The LA Tech pitching staff has not issued a walk this season and has retired all leadoff batters faced. Opponents are hitting just .160 against the Bulldogs this season. >> Allie Floyd leads LA Tech in innings pitched (9.0) and strikeouts (12) this season while owning a 1.56 ERA. Floyd’s 12 strikeouts are the most by a Bulldog pitcher through the first two games of a season since Lindsey Meadows struck out 18 in 2001. >> Nicole Hammoude leads the Dogs with three hits this season. The redshirt-junior is batting .600 and has doubled in the first two games this season. >> Brooke Diaz leads LA Tech with a .667 batting average in addition to two singles and a walk. Diaz has drove in runs in both of Bulldogs’ wins this season. >> LA Tech is 2-0 when scoring first this season and 53-8 when scoring first under head coach Josh Taylor. >> This weekend will be the first meeting between LA Tech and Lindenwood. The Lions became a Division I program in 2022. >> Louisiana Tech and ULM will meet for the 110th and 111th times this weekend. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with ULM 70-39. The 70 wins over the Warhawks are the most by the Bulldogs over a single opponent all time. >> Head Coach Josh Taylor and staff added four transfers this offseason: Alexis Gilio (BYU), Nicole Hammoude (Cal), Claire Raley (Utah State) and Aubree Seaney (Oregon State/Tulsa). >> LA Tech is led by head coach Josh Taylor who is 73-44 in two seasons at Tech and 306-212 in his career, with prior stops at Nevada (2017-2021) and Feather River College (2009-2012). >>
