Michael Black, ASLA, is the
Kris Brown, CLARB,
CEO and a founding principal of la terra studio. Michael is a graduate of Mississippi State University.
ASLA, ISA, is the President and a founding principal of la terra studio. Kris obtained his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Arborist.
Brad Stringer, PLA, CLARB, ASLA, has served as a registered landscape architect and site planner for over twenty years and is the principal of la terra studio’s Mississippi office. He has been a part of many award-winning projects throughout his career.
Kris’s problem solving and creative design solutions have helped him oversee many successfully constructed projects. He has a sincere appreciation for client needs and a passion for flawless execution during the construction of each project.
His project experience includes corporate, industrial, medical, governmental, parks, and institutional projects. Brad’s responsibilities include client meetings, project management, site analysis, construction documentation, and construction observation.
His experience in a wide range of projects allows him to manage each project’s unique complexities. Michael thrives on well thoughtout, creative designs that are practical for the client and memorable for the user. He is a registered landscape architect in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Oklahoma. He is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB).

Hunter Travis, P.E., is the firm’s civil engineer, and he received a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering from Mississippi State University. Hunter’s engineering projects include extensive road, bridge, utility, and water/waste system projects for both public and private clients. Hunter brings an exceptional wealth of experience in construction management, including cost estimating, scheduling, and packaging/phasing. Over the course of his career, Hunter has proven his ability to take a project from an idea to reality with extreme efficiency and precision. Hunter is registered to practice engineering in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
