More than 50 years training managers We are an international business school specialised in business and management training founded in 1958. We have plenty of experience as a business school and over our 55 years of history, more than 60,000 managers and professionals belonging to national and international companies, institutions and organisations of different fields, have put their trust in us. This experience has allowed us to be acknowledged in 2012 as the third most renowned business school in Spain according to the MERCO Ranking (Spanish Monitor of Corporative Reputation, 2012 edition) with the classification led by IE and IESE, an acknowledgement that drives us to carry on searching for the excellence of our business school. Furthermore, once again, our master degrees are amongst the best in Spain according the ranking of El Mundo 2012. These successes require us to continue growing every day and we consider that this challenge demands the enhancement of three main areas. In the first place, we want to carry on developing our international scope and point of view. Our campuses in Madrid and Barcelona have already welcomed professionals with more than 60 different nationalities, and we are working to increase this figure year by year. To do so, we are strengthening our bonds with the international academic and business community by means of maintaining agreements with business schools and universities of more than thirty countries. In turn, these agreements encourage the exchange of knowledge, development, research and innovation with business schools around the World and favour the mobility of students and teachers. In the second place, we are strengthening our connection with the business network. We currently have cooperation agreements with more than 1,400 companies and institutions and more than 1,500 companies recruit students from our School each year. Furthermore, we are still working to provide a balanced teaching team, which combines professionals related with national and international companies and academic experts. Finally, we would like our students to acquire excellent experience during their studies at EAE, and that is why we support their personal and professional growth before, during and after their stay at EAE. For this reason we offer our students Welcome, Professional Development, Update and Networking services. All the latter, without forgetting about the continuous academic innovation that we provide to our students and to the business community. We invite you to get to know us. Welcome to EAE.

02 The program: Master of International Business
The Master of International Business is a generalist program with a particular focus on international aspects of management needed on today’s business world. The programme integrates studies in all the areas of business activity in an effort to develop the most reliable policies and strategies that successfully achieve the objectives of a company in an international environment. The MIB is based around the four fundamental elements of a successful international business education, crucial to establish roles in today’s multinational and multicultural firms engaged in the constantly evolving world of global business: • Functional methods and techniques. • Personal development. • The importance of strategic information decision-making. • Creativity and innovation. No business person can develop all of his creative potential in isolation. This way, the MIB combines academic excellence with an in-depth practical knowledge of business and business planning. In addition, we also provide our students with a wide range of corporate visits and meetings, and lectures with managers and top executives from successful corporations. The world of business requires experienced professionals with advanced knowledge in various fields of effective management, while at the same time demands personal skills such as flexibility, adaptability, reflection, resolution and creativity. Professionals who knows and use a wide range of management techniques, including an awareness of not just of the most up-to-date theoretical knowledge but also of the real market and trends in the business world.
Semester abroad in Paris Students are offered the possibility of studying a semester abroad in Paris. Founded in 1965, IPAG Business School is one of the most prestigious schools in France. It has campuses in Paris and Nice and a network of more than 90 international partners in 26 countries.
Aims The main objectives of the MIB are: • Efficient management. The rapid changes in the business world requires the most up-to-date methodology and techniques for our students so that they become effective and competitive managers. • Process of changes. Changes in the economic, social and technological areas influence an organizational str uc ture of companies. Technological advances, improvements in communication and the development of underdevelopment countries have promoted greater competition in western countries and this implies adaptation to new situations and new management tools. • International competitiveness. In the world of business, executives must adapt their frame of reference without losing touch with their own values and culture. Specialists and generalists alike understand that competition is a necessary condition, though it is not the only requirement for the survival of a company. • Educational training of executives. The general objective of the MIB is to train leaders able to evolve within the heart of complex international markets, capable of inducing and managing flexibility and changes in reaction to new technologies, the appearance of new markets and social evolution, and open-minded and receptive, capable of communicating and being creative.

In today’s business dealings, parties frequently have their principal places of business in different countries which raises various legal issues not present in a domestic transaction. It will look at issues related to international financial instruments, all the categories of risk found in international finance and the methods used to mitigate or eradicate them. strategic management
(I) / (II)
The overriding objective of this course is to enhance the diagnostic and problem solving abilities of individuals, confronted with a variety of strategic and/or operational business problems in a diverse set of company environments and situations. The fundamental assumption is that the causes of problems faced by general managers in companies are not necessarily limited to a particular functional area. In fact the search for solutions to most organizational problems requires an integrated multifunctional approach.
8
As such the purpose of this course is to harmonize material learned in other functional and general management courses in the MIB programme, and apply it in the diagnosis and solution of business problems that require an integrated system-wide approach. Our goals include the development of critical thinking skills, acquiring the ability to work collaboratively, and honing the art of applying theoretical concepts to actual business situations, with this objective the course uses as instructional methodology: Cases and Seminars.
04 Teaching staff
Note: Strategic Management (II) will be only for students who will stay in Barcelona the whole year.
The Business Plan The course provides students with the experience of carrying out a major piece of research, enabling them to draw on the knowledge and skills gained throughout the course, while providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate to potential employers their intellectual and practical capacities.
EAE’s teaching staff is made up of an outstanding team of lecturers, university teachers and professionals of high prestige in this educational area. They are experts in business as consultants, top-managers or advisers in private companies and institutions. As a result, the participants in this programme achieve a permanently updated knowledge with a solid academic basis.
The making of a Business Plan is a key element of the MIB programme. In its development, participants should considerer the influence of various functional areas on the viability of a future business project and define the future business strategy, as well as design the implementation of business policies they consider necessary to the achievement of the short-term and long-term objectives of the corporation.

05 Methodology
2. methodological support elements Resources provided to students An important part of the methodology is the selection of material and documentation that favours the students’ learning. For this purpose, the participants in our programmes have: • Theme-based presentations of teachers and experts. • Handbooks, technical notes and the latest reference books. • Business success cases and study cases that help us to locate learning in the daily context of organisations. • Insights. Macroeconomic analyses or joint European and Worldwide analyses drawn up by EAE’s Strategic Research Centre. Activities, management and networking conferences Du r i ng the master degree, we orga n ise cer ta i n conferences with executive officers and experts from companies and organisations, which go into detail about topical issues, as well as off-campus activities, such as visits to companies and discussions with professionals from different sectors. The aim of these activities is to bring participants closer to the reality of the business env iron ment by means of ana lysing successf u l management cases, getting to know their environment better and, especially, reinforcing the programme’s networking among the participants, teachers and professionals of the sector.
1. How do students learn at eae? EAE Business School’s methodology is structured in three branches that revolve around the student: 1. Experience-based learning, basing its efficiency on the weight of experience in our learning processes. Thus, we help to transfer the learning contents to the students’ professional experience to establish life-long learning throughout the course, during academic hours in their professional environment. 2. Problem-based learning. We place the student in the centre of the methodology. The solution of problems demands from students a process of acknowledgement of what has been learnt during the course, identifying the needs of the problem and developing the appropriate skills in order to obtain a satisfactory result. 3. Case studies (Case method), whether real cases, or cases known or lived by the teachers, which will help to encourage the learning of the students in a simulation environment, without putting at risk the managerial success of a real project.
Online Campus The support of technology is fundamental in the School’s academic methodology, as it is the environment in which great part of the work is put together. EAE’s Virtual Campus has been designed so that students have access to academic resources and all the updated information of the course: notes, marks, material, teachers’ contact information and many more details, as well as receiving the summoning of activities, events and conferences organised by the institution. The Virtual Campus also facilitates the communication between students, teachers and EAE members thanks to the BlackBoard IM video-chat. This tool allows several users to carry out videoconferences, share online presentations or share their desktop with the rest of participants, and many more functionalities. Furthermore, the EAE Campus incorporates Blackboard Mobile technology that allows students to access all campus functionalities from their pocket by means of any device, as it is fully optimised for mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices that run on Android, iOS or BlackBerry. BlackBoard Mobile is currently the campus used by universities such as Princeton, Stanford or Duke.

“I’m grateful for having had the opportunity of studying at EAE, because it has provided me with a wider vision of business management and it has also complemented the practical knowledge that I had already acquired. The program has also empowered me with tools so I can face with more determination the challenges that lie ahead in these times of economic uncertainty. One of the aspects that I would highlight is the networking that I got while I was studying. The people that I met were exceptionally qualified professionals with whom I am currently making business connections.” Antoni Buira general manager sony spain eae alumni
