Se Estrenará la Película “The Poet of Havana” Basada en el Renombrado Cantautor Cubano Carlos Varela
Descubra el significado musical, cultural, político y social que es Carlos Varela en The Poet of Havana este 23 de octubre de 2015 a las 8PM ET/7PM CT por HBO Latino. También podrá ver el especial por HBO on Demand, HBO GO y HBO NOW. El especial del concierto está dirigido y producido por Ron Chapman, director y empresario quien empezó su carrera como músico, y luego guió a varios artistas musicales a producir álbumes. Su club legendario musical en Toronto “The Edge” da acceso a una escena de los artistas internacionales más conmovedores de hoy en día, y promociona conciertos en lugares principales de la ciudad.
También estableció una compañía productora de cine y dirigió videos de rock, y por décadas ha producido y dirigido propagandas de televisión para algunas de las marcas más grandes del mundo. Abundant Vida Abundante Life
Jesús dijo: “Yo he venido para que tengan vida, y en abundancia” (Juan 10: 10b). La vida abundante es algo que crece todos los dias. Dios planta Su vida en la persona que oyen la Palabra de Dios y cree. El creyente nacido de nuevo entra en una experiencia espiritual nueva por creer y clamar a Cristo. Es como una fuente de agua que brota constantemente en un flujo abundante de recursos. El ser cristiano es vivir de una manera abundante. La vida abundante nos asegura que podemos experimentar las bendiciones de Dios en esta vida y el cielo. Podemos entrar en la plenitud de nuestra gran salvación hoy, y vamos a experimentar la bondad de Dios para siempre.
Filipenses 4:19 dice: “Mi Dios, pues, suplirá todo lo que os falta conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.” La persona que entra en esta nueva vida, abundante en Cristo no faltará ningún bien. La vida que Él da es son como rios de agua viva. Es como un río desbordado en los cuales nada puede suprimirlos. El favor de Dios hacia nosotros es interminable porque Él da un verdadero suministro.
Jesus said, “I am come that you may have life, and keep on having it in abundance” (John 10:10b). The abundant life is a growing thing. It is the increasingly abundant present life of the believer that is emphasized. God plants His life in the person who hears the Word of God and believes. The born again believer increasingly enters into the experience of the new spiritual life by believing and yielding to Christ. It is like a spring of water that perpetually springs up in an abundant flow from resources deep within. The Christian is to live in an abundant way of life now. The abundant life assures us that we can experience God’s blessings in this life and heaven, too. We can enter into the fullness of our great salvation today, and we will experience God’s goodness forever. Philippians 4:19 says, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” The person who enters into this new, abundant life in Christ shall not lack any good thing. The life He gives is overflowing in rising waves of a spiritual tide. It is like a river overflowing its banks in which nothing can suppress it. God’s favor toward us is unending because He gives a genuine unending supply.

Entrevista con Danny Montejo Nos Contó Sobre su Vida en Cuba y por
todo lo que Pasó para Lograr su Sueño en EEUU
P
ese a sus dificultades durante su vida, Danny Montejo cree que venir a los Estados Unidos fue la decisión correcta para él. Él quería ser un músico popular en este país. Su sueño empezó a los cinco años de edad, cuando empezó a tomar clases de guitarra. Se unió a otros niños de su clase para formar una banda y fue allí donde por primera vez se presentó al público como Danny Montejo. A temprana edad Danny aprendió a cantar por medio de su abuela. Años despues en la escuela secundaria, el soñaba con ser artista y cantar ante multitudes, pero no tenía ningún apoyo de la escuela o el gobierno. Después de asistir a la escuela secundaria y preparatoria, Montejo asistió a la escuela de arte. Después de la universidad, Él tenía que realizar trabajo social y enseñar música durante 10 años para poder llegar a ser profesor de música. Durante su juventud Montejo cantó con diferentes bandas musicales en su pais natal Cuba, pero el sabía que tendría que ir a Estados Unidos si quería tener éxito. Por lo tanto, tomó un barco arriesgado su vida para cumplir sus sueños y poderle dar una mejor vida a su familia. Tuvo suerte y sobrevivió, mientras que una joven con sueños similares murió durante el viaje. Al llegar a Estados Unidos por Florida, Montejo se trasladó a las Las Vegas, donde trabajó en un casino y al poco tiempo formó parte de un concurso llamado “La Academia” donde ganó el primer lugar y el cual le abrió varias puertas para seguir creciendo como músico. Poco tiempo después se trasladó a California para competir en otro show televisivo, el cual le dio la oportunidad de trabajar para el mismo canal. Al poco tiempo conoció a su esposa en esa misma ciudad y contrajeron matrimonio. Antes de volver a Michigan, compitió en un programa de televisión de Univision llamado “Va Por Tí”, en el cual ganó el tercer lugar y le dio la oportunidad de firmar un contrato con Univisión por 10 años y Warner Music. Además de su esposa, Montejo tiene un hijo el cual es su enfoque actual. Él tiene pensado volver a la música después de un tiempo. Actualmente, Montejo vive en Michigan con su esposa Jazmin y su hijo Dylan. Meses atrás Montejo abrió una escuela de música llamada “DM Academia” localizada en Wyoming, MI en la cual su meta principal es ayudar a los estudiantes a realizar sus sueños y aprender a tocar la guitarra, cantar y comenzar una carrera como músico. “He pasado por tantas cosas que me han ayudado a crecer como ser humano. Los retos que he enfrentado me han ayudado a ser más fuerte y no me dejo intimidar por los obstáculos que se me presentan“, dijo Montejo. “No tengas miedo a perseguir tus sueños”.

Told us About His Life in Cuba and Everything that He Went Through to Accomplish His Dream
D
espite his hardships throughout his life, Danny Montejo believes coming to the United States was the right move for him. He wanted to become a popular musician in this country.
His dream began at age five when he was given guitar lessons. He joined other kids in his class to form a band. He learned to sing from his grandmother. When he was in middle school, he wanted to be an artist, but he didn't have any support from the school or government. After middle school and high school, Montejo attended art college. After college, he was forced to do social work for music and teach music for 10 years so he could teach at a music school. While he joined bands in Cuba, he knew that he would need to be in the United States if he wanted to succeed. Therefore, he took a boat and risked his life to have a better life. He was lucky. He survived while a fellow passenger with similar dreams died during the trip. Upon entering the United States in Florida, Montejo moved to Las Vegas where he worked at a casino. He was part of show called “La Academia,” where he won first place. The show opened up doors of opportunities for Montejo. He moved to California to compete on another show and began working for a television channel. He met his wife while in California. Before coming back to Michigan, he competed on a Univision television show, “Va por Ti.” He won third place. Now, he has a 10-year contract with Univision and a Warner Music label. Besides his wife, he has a son who is current focus. However, he isn't giving up on his dreams. He will go back to music after a few years. Montejo lives in Michigan with his wife Jazmin and son Dylan. He wants to help students realize their dreams and learn to play guitar, sing and begin a career as musician. He opened a music academy, DM Academia in Wyoming, Mich.

“I have been through so many things that have helped me grow as a human. The challenges have helped me be stronger and not get intimidated by obstacles,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams.

La Destilería Long Road Ofrece Kit al Museo de Grand Rapids como Parte de la Exhibición “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition”

urante la era prohibida, la gente hacia su propio alcohol ilegalmente en sus bañeras. Para mostrar esta parte de la historia de América, la destilería Long Road de Grand Rapids, Mich., Se ha asociado con el Museo Público de Grand Rapids. La destilería, que recientemente abrió sus puertas en el Oeste de Grand Rapids, lanzó un kit llamado “bathtub gin kit” para coincidir con la apertura del museo de Grand Rapids titulada “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition”. El kit viene con una botella de vodka Long Road, ingredientes botánicos para infusión, capachos, embudo, instrucciones y una botella conmemorativa con una etiqueta especialmente diseñada para esta ocasión. Long Road Distillery Offers Kit as a Part of Museum Exhibit “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition”

During the Prohibition Era, people illegally made alcohol from their bathtubs. To show this part of American history, Long Road Distillery in Grand Rapids, Mich., is partnering with Grand Rapid Public Museum.
The distillery, which recently opened on Grand Rapids West Side, will release a “bathtub gin kit” to coincide the opening of the museum’s “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition” exhibit. The kit comes with Long Road vodka, botanicals for infusing, straining cloth, funnel, instructions and a commemorative bottle with a specially designed label. Even when the customers purchase the kit, they will not be able to make the alcohol because it remains illegal to make it at home. Long Road features the first four legal stills ever in the city of Grand Rapids. The kit is designed to enhance the flavor of the vodka, the kit is designed to invoke the spirit of the 1920s when Americans used ingenuity to make their own alcoholic beverages, a trait in common with modern craft distilleries and breweries.
