Team Leader Message Hello everyone, I’d like to introduce myself – I’m Hayley. I have been at Traralgon Early Learning Centre in the admin space, I’m now a team leader at the Moe Early Learning Centre, whilst Emily is spending a short period of time at Carinya again. Don’t worry! She’ll be back and in th MidOctober.

National Tree Planting Day was on 25 July, Room 4 and 5 travelled to College Park in Newborough to plant some trees. A sausage sizzle was provided by the Lions Club.

The Red Nose Day ‘Disco’ was a huge success, the children loved going to Room 3 for a dance. I am looking forward to getting to know all the families.

SunSmart Season Spring time is here! This means we need to follow our Sun Smart practices. All children and educators are required to wear hats that protect their face, neck and ears, i.e. legionnaire, bucket or broad-brimmed hats. Protective clothing is also recommended for outdoor play. We recommend clothing to be loose fitting clothing that protects as much of the children’s skin as possible during outdoor play, i.e. sleeves, no singlets.

Anglicare – MCH Room 2 We currently have Anglicare Victoria working from our MCH Room 2 on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30am – 5:00pm.

PARENTS/AUTHORISED PERSONS ONLY should be entering the code for the MELC entrance. This is for your child’s and others children’s safety. Please also do not hold the automatic doors open and please remember to shut the gate behind you, especially if there is a child running ahead of their parent. Please do not let your older children sign in/out themselves on the iPad. Again, this should be used by staff and authorised persons/parents only as we use this as a reflection of who is in attendance at the service (we don’t want children signing themselves out during the day!).

2020 Preschool Enrolments On-time enrolments for preschool in 2020 have closed and first round offers have gone out. Acceptances are due within two weeks. Placements for late enrolments will be offered in order of receipt of application where places remain available. If your child turns 4 by 30th April 2020, you can submit an application for registration through Latrobe City Councils Central Registration Scheme.

If you need help to complete an application, please speak to Hayley or Narelle in the office.

Anglicare Victoria exists to protect the vulnerable Victorians in our community – a child suffering from abuse, a homeless young person, a woman escaping domestic violence, an impoverished couple unable to feed their family – people who desperately need help.

With a range of direct services, to help people overcome their immediate crises, and they are dedicated to empowering and educating Victorians, to provide them with access to brighter futures and better tomorrows. Pop in and say ‘Hello’ to Jaz and Belinda.
