College magazine questionnaire analysis After getting a sufficient amount of people to fill in my questionnaire, I gathered enough information to create a magazine, which suits the preferences of the target audience (college students). From the results I collected, I found out that 90% of people I asked do not currently read the college magazine. This means that the product doesn’t work. It will need to be altered to suit the target audience enough for them to want to read it. Also, 85% of the students said they would pay either nothing or 50p at the most. From these results, I will choose to price the magazine at 50p so there will be some profit to improve the magazine in the future. Thinking about how often the magazine will be published, 60% said they’d be willing to buy it either monthly or every two weeks. I conclude that I’ll be publishing the magazine monthly so it allows enough time to gather appealing information for the target audience. As far as people were concerned about the content of the magazine, the top five topics that they want to be covered are student tips, college events, fashion, a gig guide, and local events. These five subjects are what I’ll base the cover lines on so the magazine is more enticing to students. 95% of people asked said they want a job page, which advertises latest vacancies. This is very appropriate for the magazine because most young people typically want to be earning money. Thinking about the appearance of the magazine, the top four voted colours for the colour scheme of the magazine were blue, black, white, and red. These are very simplistic colours, which are appealing to all genders because they are very neutral. I asked what kind of image that they’d want on the front cover, to make it more interesting to students, and 75% said they’d want either a picture of a student or of a student’s work. In conclusion, I will most likely combine both ideas to satisfy all students. There wasn’t any conclusion about the fonts, but since this will be aimed at young people, modern and simplistic fonts would be most appropriate. The magazine will be called EN Magazine so it is easily recognisable to everyone.
