A Special Family Member ! When naming a special family member, I don’t even have to think because it’s going to be my grandpa Hank every time. My grandpa Hank has been there for me so many times I can’t even count. When I ask him something, all I get back is a great response. It’s the same thing with advice too, all I get back is a great response again. Another thing I love about my grandpa is he is always honest. There is not one time I have heard that my grandpa is not being honest. If I ask him “how do you think I did that game?” He doesn’t care if it hurts my feeling’s because he knows I will do better the next time. My grandpa is a big part of my life and always will be. ! My grandpa is also the healthiest grandpa you will ever see. He still works out every morning and eats great. Both my grandparents are retired, so it makes time for my grandpa to farm, hunt and enjoy the outdoors. If I didn’t have my grandpa, life wouldn’t be the same. My grandpa pushes my to become a better student, athlete, and a better person. My grandpa is my fuel to prove him “I can do it.” With having such an honest grandpa there are some negatives too. Sometimes I feel my grandpa is like Scrooge because he gives negative advice too. My grandpa has become a piece of me and my family too. Advice From An Adult ! The biggest thing I’ve learned in my life from an adult is “always be prepared and never stop trying.” My parents gave me that advice and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. Obviously I’ve received a lot of advice from adults for a while and that piece of advice has stuck with me. Adults to me are like a dictionary because if you open them up, they are full of information. Some of the information is helpful and some of it is not helpful. It’s all up to you to listen and take it in. My parents have taught me to listen and hard work pays off. I think I’ve proved hard work pays and the never stop trying part of the advice because I show it everyday. I’ve put the work in and my grades are solid. I get respect because of my hard work. ! My goal is to go to live in Florida when I’m about 25 years old. It’s a big goal but I believe with hard work, I can make it happen. My dad has always said “Take life slowly because in a blink of an eye, it can end.” If you look around for a bit and look back, that quote is true. So if you didn’t get anything from my story, all I ask is for you too look around a little bit and take things slow. It turns out, adults know a little something.

My Favorite Holiday Christmas Fun, Nun Bright, Benign, Merry Happy, Overjoyed, Ecstatic, Comical Family My Favorite Holiday Halloween Spooky, Frightful Scared, Frightened, Spooked The Pumpkins Were Grinning Holiday Life In Wisconsin ! Life in Wisconsin is like an over emotional child. We have some days when it is hot and then the next day it can be super cold. Sometimes I like it and other times I don’t like the weather. My favorite season is summer and we don’t have a lot of the season because the state is so far north. It gets cold pretty fast in Wisconsin, so we don’t have a lot of time to enjoy the sun or the lake. Other than the short summer, life is great in Wisconsin. We have great farm land and a lot of places to explore and the woods are great in the fall for hunting. I personally think you just have to get used to Wisconsin to love it. The food is great in Wisconsin because of the great soil and wildlife we have here. My personal favorite thing in Wisconsin is how energetic the state is. We don’t have a lazy state at all. ! Another great part of Wisconsin is the low crime level. Crime has definitely went up this past year, but not terribly. I would hate to live in a state or city where crime level is crazy. Wisconsin is a peaceful and laid back state for the most part. In the summer, the sun grabs you and gives you a giant hug. That’s my favorite part of Wisconsin is the warmness of it. I love Wisconsin, but there is going to be a time when my life moves on and maybe I will have to leave. Don’t worry Wisconsin I will come back to visit you.

My Name ! ! My name is Mitchell Hulett Hansen and my name originated from America. My name was given to me because my parents immediately fell in love with my name when my dad had a student named Mitchell. My name means “Who is like god.” Mitch is short for Mitchell,so I prefer to be called Mitch. I like shorter names a lot more than longer names. I like to have a shorter name because I think it flows out of peoples mouths smoother and cleaner, but that’s just me. I believe that my name’s color is blue because my favorite color is blue and my eyes are blue. I also believe that my name also means dedicated. There isn’t one sport that I’ve played that I haven’t been dedicated too. My parents also think that being dedicated also carries into my school work too. My name has a mind I tell you! ! I had an uncle who passed away when I was 2 years old and his name was Doc Hulett. Doc was a great man who was all about his work. He had a great work ethic and his favorite name was Mitchell. I think his life influenced my parents to name me Mitchell in the first place. Doc was a like a bouncy ball, when he was thrown down he bounced back until old age got to him. Doc was also great at sports and very athletic just like me, so I think Doc had a little bit to do with me. I like my name a lot. It has a lot of meanings, it’s short, and it describes me in every way thats possible. My name is Mitchell Hulett Hansen and I’m proud of my name. Your Neighborhood ! My neighborhood is as quiet as a mouse. When I walk out of my house, the only thing I hear is the birds singing and the faint sound of laughter in the distance. My house is locating in a friendly neighborhood behind the Kwik Trip in West Salem. We have a fence that surrounds or house, so it feels like my family and I are the only people in West Salem. The most exciting thing that has happened in my neighborhood is our backyard baseball games in the summer. Other than that our neighborhood is very quiet. Our house is surrounded by other houses, so we’re right in the middle of things. My neighborhood is probably the most friendly one in West Salem. Sometimes the neighbors like to have little parties too on the weekends. We have a great relationship with our neighbors, so it’s a lot of fun. ! We have had one bad event happen in our neighborhood and that’s it. Last summer, our garage got broken into and someone stole all of our fishing gear. Our family suffered a big loss. The burglars stole 4,000 dollars worth of fishing gear. My dad and I are big fisherman too. Thank god our insurance payed for the losses, but it still hit us like a ton of bricks. You can imagine how scared I was when I heard the door slam. Bang! I sprung out of bed and ran to the door to see my dad looking franticly for our gear. Other than that, my neighborhood is pretty safe.

A Positive Story From School ! For me, school is mostly positive for me. There are some negatives, but school is mostly all positives. If I told you ever single positive story that I have had from school, we would be here forever. I have one interesting story though, so therefore I will tell you it. I am currently a freshman at West Salem High School and this year was our first year of finals ever. Of course I was stressing out, like every freshman in the school, so I decided to take my mind of things and take a break. As I was thinking I was beginning to come up with a plan with how I could spend my time studying. I found out that if I spent 30 minutes a day on each of my subjects, I could be done early so I could spend some time on what I wanted to do. ! This plan I made up worked, and I felt pretty good coming into finals week. I had all my studying done and all I needed to do was take the tests. As I began to take my tests, my heart was beating so fast that I needed to take a few deep breaths. I just kept telling my self that I am going to do great. As soon as I handed in my last test, I felt a giant weight lifted off my shoulders. I checked my grades on my finals and I ended up doing great! I guess self confidence is more important that I thought. Going to Work ! Going to work is going to school. I wake up, brush my teeth, take a shower, and eat breakfast. You could say a person going to his/her job does the same thing every morning too. I treat school like it’s my job. I don’t want to get “fired” so I respect teachers and don’t get into trouble. I try my best and I never give up because I know that it’s ok to make mistakes. When I get my first job, I will remember to treat my job just like school and I will do fine. I found out that most things are very similar to other things in life. You just have to open up. I also think it’s very important to find a job that fits you and only you. If you do something you don’t like, you typically want to quit or stop what your doing. You don’t want to be a quitter so I would suggest doing something you love and sticking with it. That is a very important tip I learned from my teachers that I will remember for a while. ! School is also similar to a job because you can’t be late or else you get punished. If you’re late to school, you get detentions and if you’re still late a lot, you will get a truancy ticket. If you are late to work, you could possibly get fired or have to work overtime. I can’t wait to get my first job and when I do I know I will be ready.

A Birth ! When I think of an important birth, I think Kaisa! Kaisa is a 2 year old Golden Doodle from southern Wisconsin. Kaisa is a 58 pound female with a lot of energy and enjoys the outdoors and sleeping. She is all fur and bones. We got Kaisa because we wanted a dog that didn’t cause any allergy symptoms and was very nice and smart. Ever since we heard about Golden Doodles from my mom’s friend from her job, we were looking and looking for the perfect dog. After a 2 month process of looking for a dog, we finally found one in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Kaisa was 3 months old when we picked her up and took her home. I still remember sleeping by Kaisa in a sleeping bag to give her comfort. After a month of sleeping by her kennel, she finally calmed down and got used to life around the house. ! Kaisa took a lot of work and effort but to this day Kaisa is the perfect dog for us. When we got to the farm where Kaisa was born. The owner of the farm took us to where the dogs were kept and we met all 12 of the puppies. All of them were very cute and playful but one pup stuck out to us significantly. This pup wasn’t like all the others, she was different. Kaisa was as playful as a toddler jacked up on candy. Kaisa is a big part of our lives and she always will be. ! !
